Afternoon ride

I had to break out this morning and take a day off from both jobs. So I loaded up the ATV and left and headed up Denny Creek Road.

My first stop was to hit the Old Denny Creek TV Tower. Back long ago in the 90's before satellite TV was available the neighborhood  invested in the local TV tower a few bucks from everyone to pay for the power and the FCC license. So while I was up on the knob I broke out my Fuji FinePix HS30 EXR camera and attempted to shot a picture of the house. I was shocked when I got home and seen the picture turned out. I'm on the right side you can see the butt of the RV in the photo as well as the very large maple tree out back and a bit of smoke coming out the chimney.

Then as I came down from there I shot a picture of the Seven Devils Mountain Range with all its snow yet.

I will admit,my place can be a bit noisy at times. But it's better than when i lived in the bigger city.

I could handle listening to the river, but how are the neighbors are highway?

Great pics too. At that distance, everything tends to look flat, lol.

I'd love to sit in one of those timbered draws! Bet allot of elk trudge through it...

Seen Grouse, White Tail Deer and Wild Turkeys. What is scary is the lack of snow and being able to travel so far up the mountain without any snow issues. Yeah the Seven Devils looks great all snow capped yet. But I was on the east side of the valley working my way up. So little snow...

What was totally disappointing about the ride was expecting to ride up a mountain to get away from people and find out that people are buying land farther and farther back in the woods. Then to find out of course USFS is no longer going to to maintain the roads beyond them. So the road that I remember back in the 90's you could drive a full size Dodge pickup to the top of the mountain. Now the road is so bad that you can barely ride a ATV up to the top. Huge ruts in the roads, rocks and wood debris everywhere. I use to years ago go firewood cutting up there now you couldn't even drive a truck in this area. Truly sad.

Kind of like another road locally is the same way is Hazard Creek Road. I use to drive my pickup to the end of road and pull massive Red Firs out and truck out of there loaded. Now you can barely ride a ATV back in there. Kind of waiting for something to happen where the USFS gets bit in the tail for letting the roads go like this.

Do you skip getting groceries because of all the fish you catch across the road?

Ummm... I haven't been fishing since 2004 don't have time for it. Heck this is the first ride on the ATV outside the yard in over a year. I don't have time usually. Make you think more the oil change light on the ATV automatic comes on every 600 miles. It's been over 2 years since I last seen the light.
