Hello ALL! I have been exploring this forum for a few days now and I couldn't be happier that I found it! We own a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 2nd Generation 5.9L Cummins 24V, it is a 4x4 with an automatic transmission (we couldn't find a manual when we were shopping)... We purchased our truck about 6 years ago already, but we haven't had the time or money to do many of the upgrades we would like. Now we have so many on the list we are having trouble deciding which ones to do first. There are a few things we are past due in installing/ upgrading such as the high idle mod & crankcase vent mod... we also have a few issues that we have tried to address by taking our truck int…

\ Hello everyone. I joined a while ago and I’m finally getting on here. I have a 2001 2nd gen 24v work truck, mainly stock 5-speed war horse with 370K on it. It’s the successor to a similar 1998.5 unit that I rolled off a slippery mountain a couple of years ago (see my profile pictures). Both trucks were acquired at a little over 300K and are my first foray into diesel land. I’m fully committed to making at least one run forever. I am now cab swap veteran, having replaced the rolled truck’s body with a nice clean quad cab (upgrade) from a 1998 gasser with a blown engine that I scored on Craigslist for cheap. I changed over the hood, fenders,…

I own 3 trucks, all Rams: '98, '01, and '02. I've owned own F and am glad it was temporary. This is my '02 Ram (I didn't put the lift on it, I wanted the engine and tranny. The rest came with the truck. My '01 1500 Hope to gain lots of knowledge from the group. Cheers! Vinnie

Good afternoon to the community. My handle is Robby, my real name is Johnny. I am a lifelong (will be 72 in June) Texan. I am an amateur radio operator. I own and ride motorcycles, a Honda Gold Wing and a Harley Ultra Classic. I worked for the post office for 22 years and quit before I went postal. My kids were grown so I pursued the job I always wanted and became a mechanic. The chance to buy an existing garage came along and I went into business for myself. I ran the garage for 21 years and retired at age 63. I have basic mechanic knowledge of most auto systems. I have limited experience in diesel systems. I have been visiting here for a while and decided to join and b…

This looks like a pretty well organized community for cummins freaks. I'm currently rebuilding a '05 5.9CR that lost the #1 injector and took the rings and sleeve with it. About ready to start re-assembly, as soon as I figure out if the machine shop made a mistake. - - - Updated - - - Just wanted to add, that if anyone needs pictures of disassembled engine components, now would be the time to ask.

Hi folks. Just a quick intro as I'm posting this from Afghanistan and the internet isn't very reliable...:cry:I bought an 02 RAM 2500 Cummins 24V Diesel 4x4 with a manual 5 speed. I drove it for only one weekbefore leaving for the sandbox.....I got to drive it for about 700 kms before putting it away for 2 months. The previous owner has doneMANY mods and tweaks, and I haven't had much time to go over the truck before leaving. He told meto check in on this forum, as there's lots of great info in here. (the PO is a member here as well, but Idon't know his member ID)So, here I am, now a registered member, and I'm sure I'll be asking some questions once I get to lookunder the…

So it’s been a number of years since I have been on this fantastic resource of a group forum, however I just wanted to say thank you for all the past assistance and share my story. I’ll try my best to give you the cliff notes version... I found this forum during an exceedingly, difficult time in my life when the one thing I could do that would make the rest of the day melt away was work on my truck... however I had very little knowledge but wanted to learn... I would spend hours reading through old posts during many sleepless nights... I was even a little nervous about admitting I was a female, so I think I may have even initially signed up under …

I'm a newbie here but have been around the diesel scene and other forums for a while. I am the engineering manager at ISSPRO, and I have been driving the MBRP/DirtyMax truck since 2008. I have vacated that seat now though and am building my own Pro Stock Diesel pickup. No, it's not a Cummins engine or Dodge body, but at least it is diesel! Please let me know if you have any questions about ISSPRO stuff or drag racing and I'll do my best to answer!Regards,Michael Pliska

Hello All..... Just thought I would stop in here and introduce myself. I am from Shady Shores, Texas and I am a Field Technician for Caterpillar (don't hate). I currently do not own a Mopar (Dodge) but I do have a 2002 5.9 H.O. Cummins and an NV4500 that I am in the process of rebuilding. After I do that I will be installing it into my 1957 Chevy Truck. Again, don't hate. I know I will have questions regarding my engine and transmission.....and that is why I am here. To learn as much about it as I can. Thanks for a GREAT forum Mike...and to all the staff at mopar1973man.com. Frog

Just joined about 7 days ago. It took me about an hour to figure out how to post. Just got my 05 cummins 6 months ago. Unfortunatly I had a horrible experience at dealer and truck is having some issues so me and the dodge are off to a rough start but damn I love that cummins. If anyone here can recommend a service place in Oceanside Ca I would be great full. I have always done the work myself or at a dealer so I am a little unsure if taking it to a none dealer is a bad call or not. I did search for this question but could not find it so if it is in here some were please go easy on me. I have never been good at this forum stuff.

Hello all, Just bought my first diesel (and truck for that matter). I've previously been driving a 2008 Ford Mustang GT. It's time for the Mustang to turn into more of a track/project car, so I needed a new truck to drive/tow with. A little background about me. I joined the Army a year after HS and did my 4 years and got out. I'm a currently a student at Texas Tech University studying Petroleum Engineering. I have one more year left... Woo! Description of the truck is in the signature. Right now it has a drop-in K&N that the previous owner installed. I have a BHAF ordered and on the way with a black cover. Transmission still shifts solid with moderate acceler…

Hello. I've been free reading on the cite on and off for a few years and after finally deciding it was the one I seem to get the most quality information from, I subscribed. So, thanks for all of the good information you put on the web. You guys have helped me a lot on my journey. My Journey: Due to a lot of factors I decided I wanted to buy an older model vehicle that I could learn to understand and work on myself. (Call me crazy but I find the disconnect between driver and vehicle... troubling.) I wanted it to be a functional vehicle that fit some of my needs. My brother talked me into getting the 5.9l cummins and I ended up with a 98.5. It had b…

Hey guys, didn't see this introduction area or I would've posted here before. Lifelong cummins fan, and fairly new cummins owner here. Guess I'll share a bit about my truck. Last may, a friend of a friend was putting his 00 24v up for sale. The dealership would only give him 4 grand, so I paid him 4300 and got the truck, despite him suspecting Vp44 issues. I figured out that the vp was just fine (he had put in a new upgraded one) it was just a weak lift pump. So my first project was installing a Raptor 150 with 1/2" line and pulling the stock pump from the tank. Since then, I've redone the body, gotten another set of tires and wheels, put on an s&b intake I got fro…
