  1. Hey Gang... The Members RV /Trailers forum is going to be obsoleted and replaced by the Garage tab function at the top of the page. I will be killing off this forum by next year some time so please move over to the Garage function and update your vehicles.

Hello guys. So my ram has a canopy which I love, but am probably going to go with a 5th wheel for my travel trailer. Having said that, I'm looking for ideas on a clever way to remove my canopy. I want it to be easy to do, so I can go back and forth from open to covered. I've heard of an elaborate pulley system. I'd like to see some ideas of what y'all have. Parts and prices photos and links are a plus. I'm not afraid to build something. I just need ideas. Thanks.

Here is what mine looks like when I am coming home. I don't use the wind deflector anymore and it did not help since it is so far from the trailer. Overall the set up is about 65' long and weighs just over 17k pounds. The camper is a 2006 Dutchmen 24BH that is 28' long and that is a 1970 16' Starcraft boat behind it with a 1970 70HP Johnson out board and a 1970 trailer (the whole thing is the package that came from a dealer in 1970!). Who else pulls more than one trailer?
