I was testing my Fca the othed day by unhooking it, then truck throw a P0193 high pressure. I tried clear the code with my obd2 to see if it would come back. Its like the code never leaves, because it come back up without even trying to start truck. I also unhooked the batteries for atleast 30, and the same pops up with the same code without even trying to start the truck. Any thoughts

  2. Night lighting for the Dodge trucks I have sure has leftme wanting better. I decided to add the full blown Brite Box to my '05 and to upgrade the bulbs inmy fog lights. Now with my low beams on I can also use my fog lights (nothing new here overstock capability) that have the upgraded bulbs. This requires adding an adapterplug to accept the brighter capacity bulb. This gives me something like 40% more lumens that the stock bulb. Now when I turn on high beams my low beams also stay on as well as my foglights will stay on also. This required adding the Brite Box electronics aswell as necessary adapter wiring and new fused power taps going directly toeach bat…

  3. 05 gets 22+ around town, 24+ unloaded hwy. I am easy on it becuse its my money. The 07 however, 18 in town and not much more on the hwy. I havent had time to get in the shop manual but I am thinking there are some emmision items on the 07 that may not be on the 05. Of course any speculation of modification is only theoretical . Both are stock and unchiped. I am going to gauge both before applying an tunners. The 07 has a brand new set of Dodge warranteed injectors in it, thank you Dodge:thumb1: , and the correct filtration. My question: does anyone know what the changes were between the 07 5.9 and the 05 that could be corrected on the 07 and experience with same. …

Over the last few years I have done a few mods that have made the truck quieter, and well I guess the cumulative effect just snuck up on me!I was camping a few weeks ago and a guy with a bone stock 6.4 Ford commented on how quiet it was, which was not something I expected as the 6.4 is a fairly quiet motor. Well sure enough my truck is a LOT quieter than his. So now I have started listening and it's amazing how quiet my truck is at idle, the loudest things are the trans and the vacuum pump. The trans was super quiet with the 6.7 damper until the weather warmed up, now it makes a little noise but not much. All in all I am pretty happy with it!The things I have done that ef…

I already posted this question in an old "Frantz" thread so I thought I would give this a shot. I am trying to get my game plan together for installing my Frantz oil bypass kit and I was wondering if I could use a heat gun to soften the hose up so I can slide it onto the fittings. I know the big guy (Mopar1973Man) told me to boil them in water for a few minutes but I was curious to know if the heat gun would work? Thanks for any advice

Ok people, there have been many discussions pertaining to oil filters ... their preferences and performance. Even thought people tend to narrow their preferences over the years, sooner or later companies always come up with something new. I understand these have been on the market for a while. But I have yet to read (or know of) anyone using these. Microgreenfilter's http://www.microgreenfilter.com/ Anyone ?

  11. Dad's '05 was draining batterys with ignition off. Found the solution. It was the radio. He has the Infinity, with 6 disc changer. This is apparently a big problem.

I've been having the occasional hard start when warm shortly after shutdown. I brought the truck to the dealership under warranty about two months ago for this problem and after three days they claim "unable to duplicate" . Called chrysler to see what my other options are and they opened a case and said bring it to the other dealership and see what we can find out. Well after a whole day sitting there I finally get ahold of someone and the result was"unable to duplicate" . When I asked the service manager what test were run he seemed a little offended and said he can't run test unless they can "duplicate issue" . So as a concerned consumer on an expensive investment I ask…

My dad and I installed sway bars on our trucks this weekend. We both went with Hellwigs, I got the standard bar and he got the big wig. I don't haul/tow all that heavy, but there isn't a straight road around here so I figured it was a good idea, and my dad has a Lance 8' camper and tows a 16' stock trailer behind it. The install was pretty easy, only issue is we couldn't get the end links at a perfect 90° angle because we both have Class-V hitches. The angles aren't bad and are about 85-87°. They made a very noticeable change. My truck empty is much more stable driving around, and with a trailer it's great. I don't have many miles on it yet, but should hit some winding r…

  17. Headed for the tractor pulls, and the trailer brakes wouldn't release after engaging them. So I pulled over and started checking everything. Couldn't find anything, so I thought lets shut it down and see what happens after restart. Turn the key nothing, have lights, gages, she just wouldn't do anything. Buddy came to jump me off, still nothing. So I call the wrecker, get unhooked from the trailer, tow it to the Dodge dealer, they put the scanner on it and no codes, they do some more checking and the ECM in the transmission thinks, the truck is in third gear.Do some more checking and the scanner sees the shifter changing gears when you move it. What the heck happened?

  18. Today I filled the Dodge and while I was there a guy walked up and asked about the 2 stroke oil I was pouring in the fuel tank. During the discussion, he whipped out a jug of STP and poured it down his fuel tank then started filling. He said he heard of the 2 stroke and why people used it, but he preferred STP instead. He mentioned it quite his truck engine, lubed the fuel system and he has been using it for a while. (he said his dodge is a 2002). I have searched all I could on this, even the info here and 2 other sites: http://articles.mopar1973man.com/general-cummins/36-fuel-system/68-hfrr-testing-of-common-diesel-fuel-additives and I have yet seen a test on STP in…

Just replaced my a/c compressor and the mechanic notes that the pressures were getting high and the fan wasn't engaging. Took awhile for the fan to kick on. So at what pressure is it supposed to get for the fan clutch to kick in? --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?fvx4cf 2003 Ram with gauges and a Smarty! Not much more. 20. Just came back from FL pulling a 14k tag a long, totaling just a hair over 10K, a wood stove in the bed and a Golf cart, 17KW Lister genset and a John Deere tractor on the trailer. Ol' Blue just chugged right along, even when I got into the rolling hills of SC on I-26. Transmission was in Tow haul mode, w/ cruise set on 65. The only way I could tell I was in a hill was because the turbo would start whinning from spooling up. Not once did the transmission down shift or come out of lock up. Is that normal? Some of the hills were pretty long, such that Semi's were pulled down to 55 at about the halfway point. and I would have to go around them.
