I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 with 87k. It is now time for the defroster every morning, but I heard a strange clicking sound this morning while it was on, as dimming of my interior lights.Any thoughts?

HOLY COW, boys and girls!!!!!! I couldn't believe how "black" (non-racist description) the water was even after 2 rinses of the SimpleGreen and Water solution!!!! Had I known how dirty it was, I would've taken pix!!!! After soaking for 30 minutes in the SG&water, I dumped the bucket and was absolutely shocked!!!! In total I did 4 rinses. All that said however, the intake tube is spotless as far as I can reach into it, so I think all is well. The truck does seem to pull a bit better now with less throttle!!

Has anyone torn into these on the 3rd gens yet. Mine is shot. It goes to the floor and barely holds anymore. I've looked at the destructions for tear down and replacement........looks kinda involved, but I'd like some replies from folks that have actually done it. My regular brakes are fine, it's just the parking brake. Thanks.

Got back from North Dakota early Sunday morning. Truck ran great.......no problems. We put 4 tanks of fuel thru Mighty Whitey in 1 week...........the MPG's for the tanks were 17.1mpg, 17.1mpg, 18.3mpg and 18.8mpg. The first tank and about a 1/4 of the second were used going up there loaded to the gills (truck and trailer) running 65-68mph. The whole last tank got us from Fergus Falls, MN to my house and the overhead lie-O-meter said 41 miles to go on the DTE. Not too shabby for a truck with 3 guys, 3 dogs and assorted gear towing a 5x8 trailer loaded down, with a small johnboat lashed to the top.My camera took a powder, so I didn't get any pix of our trip. However, w…

:banghead: Trying to pinpoint a driveline growl, have replaced front bearing hubs, brake discs and keeper clips, and front u-joint at front differential, still have noise. When front driveshaft was out, drove around for a week with no noise/growl. will be replacing Cardan joint at xfer case next but wondering if this could be a pinion or xfer case bearing problem. Can anyone shed some light on this or had a similar experience? Thanks

Hey Fellas I was looking for the best prices on a ScanGauge II and I came across the DashDyno SPD Pro Pack It does everything the SG II does and more. Yes it is more money, but I like the idea of a Dyno and some of the other features. Insert the CD into your PC and you can all use the program as a diagnostic and scan tool. You can connect your GPS to the unit and the software will track you or somebody else who drives the car. Upload the info to Google Earth and see where your car has been, how fast ect.. There is also an upgrade for Chevy B body's ABS system as well as airbag codes. Its a big ++++ since I have a '96 garage queen. It has pretty good reviews on Amaz…

We haven't ever had Bio Diesel for sale locally and I found a small start up company selling the Bio fuel today while searching for injectors for my truck. I know I'm not supposed to run 100% Bio,what % can I run with out causing issues? Truth be known,I don't know how its sold in the lower 48. With as much oil as we pump out of the ground here and all the technology floating around the state,I would have thought Bio fuel would have caught on long ago. I see the greenees driving the old Mercs,BMW's,VW's puffing french fry smell,so I know guys are making it in their garages. I hope this company makes it and we can finally start seeing it along side our diesel pumps.

My truck is an early '03 with the 250 hp engine and 47 series transmission. Unfortunately with over 100K miles and turning my Smarty up too high,I have to rebuild my tranny. Does anybody have any idea what it takes to upgrade the internals to the 48 series trans? Someone told me the only difference is the 48 series is fully electronic with the same clutch packs as the 47 series. The stealership told me the 47 series is basically a 727 with an overdrive and is as strong as the 48. Then I was told the 48 series is tougher trans then the 47 by someone else. Not sure what to believe. :banghead: With the later '03 Rams getting the higher output engine and a 48 series leads me …

Need some help. My friend has gone through 2 stock turbos on his 05, he has a leadfoot and barks the turbo all the time. Both failures have been the shaft shearing from barking it. So what would be a good replacement turbo for a an entirely stock truck with maybe an edge juice plug in module for power adder?? Need to order tonight, so any help would be great!

Hey everyone.I need to clean corrosion on the battery terminals on my 05. I'm having problem w/ finding the right socket/wrench size that fits that nut. It's small w/ the small bolt which looks to me to be 1/8". Anyone know the size of that nut? I can fit a 11/32 over it but it won't catch. 5/16 and 8mm is too small. It's got so much crud that I can't really tell if it's a nut at all. Really appreciate the help. Thanks,Eugene

So the batteries in my truck are 70 month old. They work great, no issues. They are a little slower in winter, but thats to be expected. They are not slow enough to even worry about... So here is the dilemma, they are 70 months old! I hunt 70 miles from the nearest electricity and if the weather turns to crap at 6-9K feet the starting power might be needed so I want new batteries. I am looking at Sears batteries as they give a great military discount. The two batteries I am looking at are the Sears Platinum and the Sears DieHard Gold. The Platinum is an Odessy battery with Sears paint (info direct from Odessy) and is rated at 950 CCA. The Gold is 750 CCA. The pair…

Hi Everybody. My name is jesse and I am helping a friend replace the rusted out automatic transmission cooler lines on his 2006 SLT. We were able to get the lines off today but cannot find these lines. They are the ones from the front cooler, one goes to the tranny and the other goes to a heat exchanger/aux cooler. I found the lines on summitracing.com but lists for a 5.7l V8. Does anybody know where I can get these lines? I let him borrow a car while we fix these.

How nice would a full time transfer case be? I would use it all the time when towing on dirt roads, and in light snow/ice/rain it would really improve traction.. Then when the going gets touch lock it in part time.
