So why is it I always have that model that is the "different" one? After putting a new DDRP on the truck in fall and still not having good FP and VP death code, I put out the $ and had new VP put on. Truck runs great...but still ____ poor FP. I was lucky to see 13 at idle and I could pull it to 3 at WOT. Talked to boys at geno's. Sent me new DDRP spring...should increase FP...installed it and it did....but Im still draining to 5 .... so the guys tell me to swap filter and run a bucket test (pull from a fuel can right off the DDRP). I have to be pulling air. I tear it down and I just dont like the idea of the DDRP install.I had put in a draw staw at the tank som…

already blew through 4 gallons of wally's blue 2 stroke oil, and need to be getting more pretty darn quickI suspect any non synthetic 2 stroke oil would suffice...So besides WalMart, what would be the next place to look? Do they offer it in 5 gallon pails? 30 gallon drums?

Well, after a week of flushing radiator, changing water pump, replacing thermostat, and an unforeseen alternator replacement, I finally got around to installing my Fuel Boss yesterday morning, and finished it up this afternoon. I'm in the process of doing a write-up on it with all my notes and comments, but wanted to let you all know that it's working as advertised. Richard at GDP was always available for my various questions. I primed her up with a mityvac pump to the fuel boss, and keyed the stock pump several times to get out all the air and prime the filter. I cranked it for about 20 seconds or so and she coughed and started. She's running about 15-17 steady PSI for m…

I'm wanting to hook up my fuel pressure gauge....finally. I have a FASS installed, with the supply line going directly to the VP, so the factory fuel filter can is gone. I do have a T-fitting I could use by cutting the hose (don't really want to do that), but I had hoped I could use fittings of some sort to plumb into one of the fittings on the injection pump......is that possible? And if so, does anyone know which fittings I'd need?

Thanks to all that share their knowledge. I just did the valve lash adjustment. Only took 4 hours. Not to bad for first time. Thank you Mopar1973man for your GREAT article with pix. Now onto my next project swap out the injectors for some RV 275. Couple more paydays then back here to get the info needed to do the job. The change in the sound at idle was amazing. Seat of the pants I would say 25-30% better running, seemed to get up to speed faster, will have to be careful already spun tires. Most of the valves were loose. intakes were .012-.013, exhaust .022-.023. I guess not to far out for 217778 miles.THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!

We all know the APPS adjustments and ECM calibration. This results in the ECM 'seeing' 0-100% of throttle, uh, opening. Now my cheap code reader shows the ECM at 0-100%. Cool. The PCM shows 23-88%. Sooo, if the PCM is controlling the auto trans shifting, OD, TQ lockup, etc. What do we do with the PCM throttle %?Note that my truck shifts fine. Just curious. ___99 QCLB Sport 4x4HD, Auto. 250k, No add-ons.

hey all, got an 02 dodge ram 2500 that the only way i can get to fire up is to break #1 and 3 injector lines loose. The truck will then crank, run about 10-15 sec and die.. Lil history, truck died while driving it , the pick up pump was replaced(not by me) and brought to me with the problem it has now.. I checked voltage at the pump and have 12 volts, checked it as the truck dies and no voltage loss.. Checked the fuel pressure at the injector pump. Fuel pressure is 12 psi and also does not drop as the truck starts to die.. Found code p0216, found your vp44 trouble shooting articlefollowed it to the wire jump and by it the injector pump was bad.. replace pump, truck still …

I have a 1999 2500 24 valve.. Approx a year and a half ago I replaced the injection pump with a remaned one from thoroughbred diesel and a fass ddrp lift pump. About 3 weeks ago I fired up my truck after it was sitting for about 2 hours. I drove about a block and it started spitting and sputtering. I opened my water valve on the filter housing and air came out then fuel. It fired up and ran fine after that and was back to normal for a day or two. It then did the same thing again and I again opened the valve and air came out, it then fired up and ran fine. Now it's happening every time I go to drive it. There are no codes and my life pump pressure is superb at 15 idling an…

I recently replaced my ECM with a Cummins Re-Con unit. the truck runs fine and it seems the problems are cured by the cruise control light is on. Is this something that would be cured by having the unit programmed to the vehicle at the Chrysler dealer?

Anyone using a smart lock on their automatic transmissions?I do a fair amount of off roading for hunting and camping. I've got an awesome torque converter, but if it won't stay locked up you get very little engine braking. I am wondering, since an exhaust brake pretty much needs a smart lock, why not add a smart lock as a partial solution towards a complete exhaust brake system? Do you see any issues to doing this? Is it hard on the transmission. My Trans is stock. How do these smart locks work in combination to an upgraded valve body?

Story goes, I parked the truck, pulled the motor to build up a little bit and when the truck was parked everything ran and worked fine. Truck is a 2002 p-pumped 24v, 4x4, six speed. I finally got to put the motor back in, was out about a year d/t a deployment. turn the key and nothing, no cranking or click or anything. Swapped all the relays out to determine if it was the starter relay, still nothing. I ran a jumper wire from the where the relay would create a hot terminal with the "start" position and the truck fires over and runs fine. I'm obviously getting power from the ignition switch to the relay and the junction block, etc. I'm assuming that the "no bus" con…

Does anyone still make a tapped fuel filter cap for the 2000 - 2002 style fuel filter assemblies. I checked GENO's and he doesn't carry them any more apparently, and a Google search didn't turn up anything. Just looking for an easy way to bleed air out of the system after filter changes since this is the highest point in the system. Thx

Well I yanked my RV275's back out. They started to misfire at idle again. Looking them over and the nozzle where only lightly sooty and the nozzle holes were very visible even to the naked eye. So I already talked to a shop in Lewiston, Idaho about retuning hem back to pop pressure. Like I told him I found injector with a wore shim and I'm pretty sure this injector is my problem. So I'll report back what I find out when I get them bench tested.

Well as I was crawling under the truck I noticed the straight pipe was looking rather rotten and full of small holes. So I now replaced it with a fresh piece of pipe and no longer have to worry about that. What was amazing is the clamp came off good and was totally re-usable. I didn't break them or gall up the threads. I chased he threads with a nut and anti-seized them again and back on the pipe they went. 11 year old clamps and still going.
