  1. So today I get a dead pedal / stumble off idle, erratically. First time it happened once on my 12min drive to work. Coming home it dead pedaled maybe three times. Could be dangerous when pulling out into traffic. Yesterday I did a 10 hour round trip at a high rate of speed, hit 130mph per GPS on my phone, did much of the trip at 85-100mph often pulling upto 110-120. Lets just say it was some real long, real open old highway and I had a long way to go. *I was trying to get back before it got really dark, any tips on additonal lights I could mount on my bumper that are cheap and effective I am open to. So the kicker is its a P0121 code, which after r…

Well looks like time to upgrade to a TIMBO APPS!Truck just felt like I turned off the key for a moment yesterday on the way home, and on came the CEL!Ran fine the rest of the way home, got out the scanner and sure enough P0121, followed mike's article on testing for the cause and all pointed to the APPS.Placed my order for a TIMBO last night, hope to see it soon.

  3. Had all 5 of these codes pop up at once after changing all of my better connections while trying to figure out my electrical issues. I’ve been dealing with a p0121 off and on for 3-4 months, replaced my APPS, dead pedal came back 3 wks later. Coincidentally my trans (auto) started not going into gear in drive or reverse until I rev up to about 1k rpm’s. I did the BD diesel noise isolator and for a few days it drove perfectly with zero shifting issues or dead pedal. Then started having overboost codes and then the truck randomly died twice. Replaced batteries and redid connections and triple checked the connections, and now I have those 5 codes. Thinking ECM going out due …

Hey guys, finally got my stealth plate installed and got everything buttoned back up to go for a spin and had the cel come on throwin the P0122 for low voltage. I read through the troubleshooting briefly but was wondering if there was anything quick I should check since I just had the apps unhooked to install the stealth plate?

I have just recently got my hands on a 2000 ram 2500 with 24v and 5 speed tranny. I drove the truck for a few days and it threw code p0122 and p0234, had diagnostics ran and replaced the apps. Drove for 1 day with no engine light and then it cam back on with the same codes. Got them cleared, checked voltage on apps and got it to .51 dc. Drove truck again and it done good for a few days then the light came back on with p0122, p0500, and p1693. I’ve checked voltage again on apps and it was .39 and couldn’t get it to set around .51, I’ve checked all wiring and grounds and it all looks good. truck is completely stock as far as I’m concerned beside a cold air intake. Please he…

Posted in 2nd Generation Dodge 24 Valve Powertrain Hello all ! Recently the p0122 came on my 99 cummins, with severe driveability issues, when the throttle is pressed it revs up then dead peddles, revs up then dead peddles. I found Moparmans P0122 test and was working down the list, got to step #6 and I'm confused now if I need a ECMor an APPS. The step is as follows "6. Check Dark Blue/ White wire for continuity between terminal no. 5 on apps harness and terminal No. 31 on ECMharness connector . If continuity does not exsist, repair Dark Blue/White wire" if…

I want to start off by saying a huge thank you to @Mopar1973Man for providing this excellent resource for the ram community! I had the P0122 code and the truck would just randomly turn off after a few minutes of running. Would happen whether parked, driving, on a hill, on flat gound, under acceleration, and deceleration. It didn't matter what the truck was doing, it would just turn off. It started off doing intermittently and then just got worse and worse to where it happens quite frequently. I replaced the factory APPS with a Timbo APPS and did the learn procedure. It seemed to fix the problem. But after a while the CEL would return. Then started the random d…

Hello, I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 5.9 4x4 5spd. I started having a dead pedal and surging issue a few days ago. OBD reader shows low voltage to TPS. I used mikes diagram and made it to step 9 and I had continuity with the PCM and ECM orange and dark blue wire. It’s saying repair short to ground in the orange and blue wire. I checked all of the grounds to the ECM and PCM but I’m not sure where to check for the orange and blue grounding. I would appreciate any help that you guys can offer. I’m not a very good mechanic and no one in my area can even get my truck in the shop until September 15…

Guys I’m new to this, My truck (2000 ram Cummins) is throwing p0122 on the dash, and p0222 on the scam tool. Just changed and cleaned the battery terminals, also changed the tps, now I’m lost. I did the whole disconnected battery’s and when I turn it on the p0222 is still on. When I drive it, the truck jerks when I’m just cruising, if I stomp on the fuel it drives fine. WhT do y’all think It could be? Anything helps

So I've got 4th gear hunt on my truck. It is intermittent. I've had the alternator tested every which way and it always comes out good, be it bench testing, on car etc. It's also pretty new. I've gone ahead and done that ATS fix to bypass the ECM, but immediately threw a p0123. I did an apps reset, tried to clear the code and still there. Truck runs ok, but I'm at a loss. I'm supposed to roll out for my trip on Sunday. Any thoughts?

  14. Ok, So I bought a 2000 dodge 2500 4x4 auto, quadcab. When I bought it is seemed to run and shift fine. I got a pretty good deal on it and was a little worried something might be wrong. Well of course I didn't know about key trick to check for codes until I started working on it at home. When I bought it there was only 1 battery, so I bought two new batteries and installed. I also bought a raptor 100 and installed along w/ fuel filter. I did both of these at the same time. Since then I am getting 3 codes. p1693, p0216, and P0123. I know the first two point to mechanical ip failure, but it still cranks and runs good. The main problem I have now is the p0123 code…

I figured it may be time to settle in after the site change. Looking forward to helping where i can and learning a few things aswel! Anyways, on to whats fun and exciting Please allow me to unravel my situation. I have a 1998.5 Dodge ram 2500 5spd 4x4 (vp44, vin 6) that is throwing one ecu code. P0123. I have read the write up on mopar1973man.com regarding this code. The resulting symptoms consisted of dead pedal, intermitent throttle response, the truck reving on its own only when i touch the throttle. I have scoured the …

Every once in a while i experience a very quick loss of power as if you turned the truck off and then it comes back and acts normal. The whole thing only will last for a fraction of a second but is very easily noticeable. Sometimes, rarely, but sometimes when I first crank the truck and go to pull out of my parking spot the truck will just instantly die. Then i can fire it back off with no problems after that. Only showing 3 codes which is p01693, p01694 and p0230, I have a mechanical fuel pump on the truck so that's why its giving a code P0230 but I am curious about the others. I'm gonna start by checking grounds and the spliced factory grounds to make sure that couldn't…

Yeap... The old VP44 gave up. Timing is stuck in full advancement rattle very hard and very little power. P0216 code is present. I pulled the Quadzilla and still present so I know the problem it's not Quadzilla related. It hits a state of limp mode won't power more than 40 MPH. At times it will clear up and run well then the timing goes back to full advancement pull the power way down. I did make it home but very slow ride. I can say without a doubt the Quadzilla only reports commanded timing, not actual timing. Time to make some calls to DAP in the morning...

  20. Hey guys, need a lil help here. So i had to do some serious tear down of the truck to get to my tappet cover. I found that it was leaking back when i did my rear main crank seal last time i was underneath the truck. Needless to say to get to the tappet cover you have to pull the injection pump and lines 1,2, and 4 so that you can get the vp44 out of the way. I was very careful when i was removing the vp44 to make sure that I didnt drop the key down the timing cover. I aligned the key-way with the TDC mark on the top of the timing cover so that wouldnt happen. Removed the pump and went about my business. On re-installation i put the pump back in made sure everything…
