2nd Generation Dodge 24 Valve Powertrain

Just got my truck out of shop and had a vp44 and airdog 165 and set of guages electric . my question is they installed the fuel pressure guage sender at the vp44 the guage is going from 20 at idle to 0 to 5 at wot to 0 to 20 at crusing. i crawled under truck and the airdog will run awile and then stop pumping while truck is idleing. is that normal for it . any advise would help just dont want to damage my vp44 from no fuel pressure

I have a FASS 95 with 3/8" (I believe) fuel lines.Fuel filters (inline and main filter) replaced about 5k ago.Last week, my fuel pressure started reading 30+. My gauge only reads to 30. As long as I'm pressing the gas, I get a normal reading (15-18, ~14 WOT). When I start the truck, the pressure has always spiked to 30+ for a second, then came right back to 18. It's just now STAYING at 30+..Called FASS and got instructions on how to take the pump apart and check the ball and spring. I'm in the process of finding a mechanic or someone to help me because I'm not sure I can handle it by myself. I also need to check that my gauge is working (It is a GlowShift...) but I can't…

Everything is hooked up on my Edge so far except the MAP sensor. Either I need to replace my stock one, or they gave me the wrong T harness. Either way, I'm not going to undo everything I just did if this is only going to affect the boost reading to the edge, or have no effect at all. So is ok to run my Edge with the factory MAP installed, or should I just not even bother hooking the Edge up to the battery until it's ready?

I purchased a FPPR, some 1/2" fuel line and some fittings. I have a fuel filter and water seperator housing so I should be pretty close to installing it. The only two things left is a draw straw and how I will hook into the VP. My question is should I look into a larger return line or will the factory line give me enough flow to keep up with the new set-up?

Just received my Edge today and the instructions say to return your trucks ECM to stock. I have no idea if the previous owner has left a program on my truck or not. The gauges he installed points towards the idea that he did have a tune on it, anyway I can know for sure? If so, whats the best way to go about this? Or is it really not a huge issue... it says potentially ECM or engine damage can result... last thing I need right now.

At my last fill up I decided to set the EZ on level 3 just for the hell of it. I've had it on the truck for years and my MPG's would always drop on level 3 and I'm confident my driving style hasn't changed. I got 40 more miles off the top half of this tank than I did the last one. I don't know if the fuel station recently switched back to summer blend yet or what happened. Any thoughts on this?

Alright, so as the weather continues to get warmer, I find myself with the window down more and more. As nit picky as I'am I seem to get myself well-attuned to things when I use it or operate it enough.Well, as it may have it, my eagle ears picked up a paculiar noise. My friend is trouble shooting a problem on his truck and is wanting to try my ecm. His is a 2001 with a 6spd. Will mine work on his truck? If they're not compatible and I did do it could something be damaged? Thanks.

I'm almost done with Air Dog, but I have a couple problems. First, the main suction line from the tank to the AD, will not connect to the top of the factory sending unit. There is a 90 elbow fitting on top the tank, and the new AD line has a plastic quick fit attachment and no matter how hard I push, it will not click on. The previous owner actually had a FASS pump installed which I found out today. If I can't get it to fit, should I just cut the plastic quick connect off and stick the line on and hose clamp it? I'm having issues with my torque convertor in my 01. I have access to a complete 96 12 valve 4x4 that has a 5 speed but was rolled. I can get the whole powertrain for under $1500. Will all the parts flywheel etc transfer to my 24 valve? I don't really want to put the 12 valve in. I thought I may sell it a recoupe my money spent. Is there any electrical issues I will face? I think the pedals will swap in as the cabs I believe are identical. What about the center hump in the cab? I know it's a ton of work but it would solve any future auto trans troubles, and clutches are easy to change. Has anyone done this? Did you miss your auto afterward?

Hey Gentlemen, I am back I just installed a new VP and everything was back to normal for a couple of weeks ,I started to notice the extened cranks, dont get me wronge this new vp flips over 10 times better than the old one but not like it did when first installed ,it takes about 1 complete or 2 complete starter turnovers or around 1 full second to fire up ,when it used to flip over right away ,any thoughts or ideas ,would it be because the fuel is not heated anymore ?

Hi Guys I just bought a 2001 Dodge 3500 5 speed manual 74000 miles. The original owner never drove it much and when I got it I noticed it wouldnt rev above 2400 rpm. I put on a fuel guage and it has 14 psi at idle or when i bump the key and around 5 to 7 at wot under a load. I took it to autozone and had the codes checked and there was none. any advise on what to check or do. I put on a new fuel filter and nothing changed.

The previous owner told me about it, and I've put 300 miles on it empty and it worked perfect but I hooked up a trailer today and it shuddered bad, when I tap the brake pedal it quits. I have been surfing ebaymotors looking up tranny parts. Have any of you guys heard of RevMax convertors? They have a single billet convertor for $400, but I think they have a core charge on them and I'm too far away to send one back. What convertors have you guys used? I'm also thinking of either a full replacement valvebody or I'll install a shift kit, they are pretty cheap.

So here's my situation: I removed my VP44 today. The previous owner of my truck has glowshift gauges installed and the fuel pressure gauge is shot. While my truck is down, I'm tearing out any wires and connections this guy installed for the gauges. He has the top of the exhaust manifold drilled out for EGT's, which is good so hopefully I can use this for my Edge EGT tap. He had the VP tapped into with the fuel pressure sending unit which is now off completely. Here's where I'm a little confused. He has the third bolt of the injector lines hold down bracket tapped into with some kind of tube that runs to the back of the gauge pod. What is this for? Should I replace it with…

Hey guys, I'm removing my VP ahead of time and I'm a little stuck on removing the 1-1/16 bolt on the VP gear. It's on there so tight that when I pull hard enough, it rotates the whole motor. I tried it in neutral and stuck it in 1st gear as well. Is there some simple way to get this nut off that I'm missing? It is a lefty loosey nut correct? lol I need some advice.

2001 25004x4 5 speed started out truck ia a base model had no Cruise control! I installed a new criuse clockspring and new cruise switches now the cruise light will quickly flash on when I turn it on but won't stay on also I've never had any problem with codes and now I got a code1595 speed control solenoid! Do I have one of theese with a manual trans? I thought the PCM runs the cruise. Any help would be great! Thanjs

Does anyone have a fuel filter canister housing for sale or that they do not use? I need the part that the fuel lines connect to.
