I have a 02 Cummins H.O. and I bought new 4 ply silicone intercooler boots that are rated 80psi working and 240psi burst. I ordered new t-bolt spring clamps but the idiot sent me regular t-bolt clamps without the spring. He is sending me replacements but they wont get here till Monday and this weekend is really the only time in the near future I will have to change these. I have a BD turbo elbow, BD boost fooler, BHAF mod, glasspacked 3" exhaust and hypertech. So not really putting too much over stock for psi. Should I just put the regular t-bolt clamps on or wait for the spring clamps? Thanks

I just put a hypertech programmer on my 02 Cummins H.O. I put it on level 3 and it runs like a raped ape. I decided that killed economy too much so I went to put it down to level 1 and when I plugged it in it said I had 2 codes, a p0602 and of course p1693. I googled the p0602 which is a fulling calibration error. It still runs great on level 1. The funny thing is my check engine light never came on, just showed the codes with the hypertech. I did some research and found some people say with a hypertech or smarty thats just the nature of the beast because the ecu recognizes off stock fulling calibration. Other people say the ecu is going bad. I had my ecu (block mou…

Hello all, so here's the deal. I'm building my dream truck out of basically two trucks. What I will have left will be a 96 3500 roller and a 98.5 24 valve with a 47RE behind it. Does anyone know what kind of wiring problems I will have, to make it run and shift? I do have the 98.5 computer. Is the main harness at least close to the same or, will I have to make a copy of the 98.5 harness? I do have it but I plan on using it in the 98.5 truck, which I plan to keep. The 96 started out life with an NV4500.

Hey Dave...Remember that thermostat you sent me a long while back? Yea... I got around to using it and guess what!? It's good! It rises to 200*F and lands back to 193*F and holds steady. More testing to follow!

Well Idaho got its first now. As I type this message the snow is falling and sticking in the yard. So in a hurry this morning I got my winter 265's put on, installed the grill winter fronts, and need to change a thermostat. So is your truck ready for the winter cold and snow?I still want to crawl under check both diff's, transfer case, transmission, and grease the driveline. Then I'll think I'll be ready for old man winter.

Des anyone have a smarty tuner that i could borrow to correct my speedo with the new tires i have on it? I can pay for all shipping to and from. Or is there an inexpensive tuner that can calibrate the ecu for tire size?

My injection pump is leaking where the number 3 injector line goes on. I had the line off and there was a groove worn in the tapered seat so i sanded it down and it quit leaking for a couple weeks now it leaks again. So there must be a groove in the fitting on the pump. I can get the line from cummins but they can't get me the fitting. Anyone know where I can get one? And does it just thread out or does it hold anything in? http://forum.mopar1973man.com/webkit-fake-url://535F2EDA-3C3B-41D5-9A53-884682DEB836/imagejpeg

Hello everyone, need a little help. Was wondering if anyone has used a used ECM in their truck if the original failed,i can purchase a ECM from a 99 3500 5spd 4x4(mine is a 99 2500 auto 4x4),but what i can gather from TSB 18-033-04 the ECM part# is the same for 981/2-99. I have CODE P1694 and my truck has a 10-15 sec delay till the Wait To Start light comes on and then i hear the lift pump prime.I imagine that i would have to have the ECM reflashed which i can get done. i can get it for a great price.

I've got a new one. I have the following codes; 0112 Intake Air Temp Sensor voltage low, 0230 Lift pump circuit out of range (This doesn't surprise me much as I took off the electric pump and have been running the mechanical pump for a few months now. Maybe I should have did something with the wires instead of just unplugging them), 0237 Manifold Air Pressure sensor voltage low, and 1475 Aux 5 volt supply voltage hi. The dead pedal affects the top speed. My acceleration sucks and it tops out about 55/60.Now I have heard 1475 is one of the codes that shows up when the ECM takes a dump but it accompanies codes from all the sensors and the alternator starts putting out crazy…

i am not new to diesel trucks, ive had a few and i worked at Dodge as a diesel tech, many years ago before the army. but like anything you havent done in 7 years, i have forgotten a few things so i have a question. i have a 2002 24v 6speed, 150's, 62/71/14, studs, FASS, valair single, 5", quadzilla i drive the truck with the quadzilla on level 1 95% of the time, and have been getting around 19-20mpg driving around base. im still getting the same fuel mileage, still drive the same, still running 2-cycle in my fuel. nothing has changed.i used to be able to put the quadzilla on anything higher than 3 and it would roast the tires at 35mph if you floored it, boost ca…

Ok guys I have a 2002 dodge ram2500, I have Isspro fuel gauge my gauge started reading below 5psi when I started the truck and would take about 20mins to build up to about 15psi. Before this started as soon as I started my truck the gauge would jump to around 15-17psi. So I thought well my cheap lift pump is going out so i bought another one from the local auto parts since i don't have time to wait on an airdog or raptor to be shiped to me. Got it installed and the gauge reads 2psi let the truck ideal for about 10mins and it went up to 5psi. Only thing I can come up with is the gauge is bad or the isolator is bad, both are only 2 years old. How long do gauges and is…

I'm about to order an Isspro EV fuel gauge for my truck from Vulcan. Their 'kit' comes with: "isolator, 30" universal gauge hose with adapters, tubing kit w/ fittings". For the fuel pressure access, I'm assuming I need the tapped 12mm bajo with seals, as opposed to the other push lock fuel tee's offered.I've read alot on here, and other forums, of guys using needle valves in the system as well (or in place) of the isolator, also a tee fitting in there to still preform direct fuel pressure tests. Believe Mike uses air brake line, I would guess that would be in place of the "universal gauge hose"? Just wondering if I would be better off putting my own 'kit' together, and…

Im fairly certain my VP44 took a big ol' dump on me the other day and now I have to spend a grand on another one. Im trying to troubleshoot so that I dont have to spend ANOTHER grand on a pump.It seems to me that the main issue with these pumps going bad is the fuel not being cooled enough and the pump and/or electronics overheat. So would it be a good idea to either:A. Coil the fuel line up after the filter housing (kind of looking like brake lines by a master cylinder) before it goes into the VP.orB. run the fuel lines through some sort of a small oil or tranny cooler mounted in the front somewhere after the filter housing but before the VP.Am I WAAAAY off base here? an…

I guess I never really thought about it, I believe I read it was an hy35 and then in 2003 when the switch up to the CR stock was the hx35...I know I've heard alot of good things about em and I was wonderin what would be a good/my best option for upgrading my turbo...Can the hx be a direct swap?

I have 2001 cummins 4x4 6 speed with 172K on it. I have had this truck for 7 years, upgrades are quadzilla adrenaline, k&n, straight pipe, air dog II. About a year ago I thought I had a water issue driving on a 1400 mile trip on interstate 40 my truck started jerking at around 55-60 mph like it had water in it. Everything would go dead and then pick back up, nothing of consistency, let off the throttle and then back on it would respond then start doing it again bucking and snatching. It got so bad I had to turn chip off. I put RPPF fuel treatment in it and it seemed to clear problem didnt have any trouble with the rest of trip but every now and then it seems to do…

Hey guys, I have been having some issues with my truck under acceleration for a while now and need some help diagnosing it. My sig is current, and I have just replaced batteries, cleaned connections and coated with oil today. Before the battery swap I was having VERY noticeable surging under acceleration when cold, and it even started doing it while the motor was operating temps. I also had my interior and exterior lights flickering slightly while driving and was getting a CCD reading from the overhead off and on while driving. I drove it several times today after the batteries and I have no more flickering lights or CCD light so far. The choppy acceleration has gone away…

When I park on level ground or nose uphill its been turning over about 2 seconds or so no matter how long it sets. If I park nose downhill it starts imediatly like it always has. What is the best way to find my culprit? I dont see any wet spots anywhere but my fuel line is about 5 years old and looksdry rotted in some places but its not wet either. The teflon tape on the bottom threads of my needle valve was a little discolored so I replaced it with new and it fired up imediatly but its nose down hill too. - - - Updated - - - It also runs just as smooth as always, no miss at idle or anything.

Hi all. This question is directly related to an ongoing thread at Cumminsforum, in which MoparMan is a contributor. http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/search.php?searchid=9890709 I didn't want to high jack the thread, so here I am. Ultimately, it's about fuel efficiency & injectors, but bear with me! I've got a new to me '99Cummins 2500, 5spd, with 207K mls, fully stock. Had it checked out thoroughly before purchase, and everything is A OK. Recent clutch and tranny rebuild. My only concern now is the fuel system (which brings us back to the above mentioned thread). Getting ready for a 2 month Baja trip and want to make sure everything is good before I g…
