Hey everyone I'm new to the forum and trying to learn as much about my dodge as I can to keep it on the road. I just put an isspro fuel pressure gauge on it confirmed that I need a lift pump. (not that I didn't know that already). My question is I have been looking at lp and I've decided to go with the air dog 100 big line kit whatever I need to do it right. I have no plans for engine/power upgrades I'm just looking for longevity and later on who knows I might want to add something. Just wondering if I'm on the right track. Your input is appreciated.

I have a HX35 turbo. when I bought my Banks stinger plus it came with a quick turbo exhaust housing, big head waste gate and promised quiker spool ups. It has delivered on that promise but for the life of me I cannot find any specs on what is differant than stock except for the actuator(set to open around 34psi), and the opening for the waste gate(almost twice as large as stock). So I know I am not stock but cant seem to find any info any where as to what the differance is. I have not called Banks, but was wondering if any of you knew what is differant between it and the stock housing. Banks says it will not work with an HY, just an HX. I was very naive when I bought it a…

Those with block heaters, and use them, I have a question..How "hot" does your coolant get when plugged in overnight? I realize this could be dependent on ambient temps, possibly, but I'm curious. As an example, my block heater heats the coolant to ~100*F when plugged in overnight. Is this a normal temp for these things? Seems my '96 got hotter than that, but not 100% positive.

I am going to adjust valves on my '02 and so far have the valve cover off, so far so good. Now I see that I need to move the engine to TDC which is noted on the pump gear housing. HELP...is this pump gear (with the indicator line) under the Crankcase Breather??? I have the hose off and can't seem to get the Crankcase Breather off if that's where the gear is located.Great pictures and help on the link here for adjusting valves but the part about the gear with the TDC mark was not shown. I have the Dodge Shop Manual on CD and it shows the breather as coming off....how do I get it off and if I do get it off, how do I get it back on securely? I hate to start prying on st…

Stage 2 Colt should be here tomorrow. Got all the needed replacements for my selection of leaking seals from Regional International night before last. I may end up with a haul Saturday instead of getting it done when I first planned to but either way I'm excited!I was really tempted to do RV 275s at the same time with that cheap set for sale here, but I decided to see how much difference the cam alone is going to make first. Right now the '02 isb205 has a b215 cam in it along with the p7100. details linked in my sig.

there is a used smarty here for sale locally. They are asking 450. I looked it up and it looks like it sells new for 650 or 699. I dont have a tuner and have been undecided which to get when ready. But if this is one that is of good quality maybe I should ****** it up. It says you can do "stacking". I understand this means use with another box that will advance the timing. I'm not sure what the exact deal is with that. Why isn't one box designed to be enough?....maybe that's a dumb question....I just noticed I posted this in the wrong section...

I had high speed (50 mph or >) power loss when accelerating.....it surged or cut out. I replaced the pressure sensor. I now have a whine at turbo spool up.It doesn't seem to surge as much. I rigged a pressure tester and checked for intercooler leaks. Can't find any major leaks just a few small bubbles around one clamp. What could cause turbo whine with high speed power loss. The turbo blades are clean and feel tight...no wobble. Fuel clean, fuel pressure good. Ideas, or suggestions appreciated!

Just checked my brake shoes and notice grease inside the hub and drum assembly on the left rear. No dust at all in the assembly. The right rear side was full of dust. I suspect it to be the oil seal. Only have 90k miles, is this a common problem at this mileage? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Also, is it very difficult to change the seal? I have a shade tree Mechanic and a repair manual to go by. Thanks.Mohok

I know this has been hashed about before but I gotta ask. I'm thinking about a set of RV275's for my mostly stock '02 with 118,000 miles, see other stuff in my signature. I do haul a pretty heavy camper and tow a boat. The truck has a Quad ZXT+ chip thingy (pretty mild by most standards). My question is...amd I just wasting my $'s or will I see a REAL difference?Second question: Can I install them myself? I not a total idiot with a wrench and can follow directions. I was thinking it's also about time to adjust the valves too. Thanks to all for opinions.

Prior to the dead batteries... the truck kicked & fired off on the first touch of the key. Since then, it has not. The engine is turning over... batteries are not fallng down. Yesterday I tried with the IAT fooler off & xzt off. Today, I went to start it. I didn't see a wait to start light. Air was 45 degrees or so. It fired like one cylinder but did not catch. Repeated. On the 4th try it started & ran. It blew a cloud of grey smoke I saw in the mirror. I stepped on it slightly & it blew more of same before it cleared up. I'm clueless... but the first thing popping into my head is "Why isn't the grid heater running?" Is it fused somewhere? …

So, I'll be getting my truck back from the shop next week with a non-53 block engine and a stock rebuilt transmission. I've heard of people who claim they've replaced their trany within a year of new. What are the facts? How long does a rebuild last and what precautions can I take to extend the life? Thanks

Ok,I consider myself somewhat knowlegable on my engine. Some history first,I drove to Springfield IL to pick up a trailer, delivered to KS,noticed that vaccum pump to front case was leaking, went to my local cummings dealer for gasket(not a big deal, done several times before). Left to pick-up a trailer in Des Moines going to SD,truck purred like a kitten for 130 miles at 72 mph, loaded trailer and headed out,30 miles later felt a miss, loss of power, pulled in to a fuel stop a mile down the road, lifted hood to see oil all over the place(never lost good oil pressure(40-45 psi)20 psi at idle, shut truck down.Found that oil was leaking from push rod cover(this is where I get confu…

What are the normal numbers a person should see from the IAT sensor this time of the year? This being without a diode stuffed into the wiring connector or having one of Prowelders setup hooked up! I see about 107*. Thanks for any help.

Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out my 4wd problem. This is the first truck I've had with 4wd. So I do not know very much about it. I have opened up the front end before to do seals and whatnot as well as the brakes. I did this back in Sept. I've had a recent transmission rebuild done as well.I have used the 4wd multiple times before and after my tranny rebuild and a few times before I opened up the front. I have also done fluids on everything as well.I took a trip from Sandpoint down to Spokane on Fri. The whole way there I had to have it in 4wd. It functioned without a problem. Tonight though, I drove from Spokane to CDA which is about 30 miles. I had it in 2wd. Once I e…
