I know I have a thread related to this and cant find it I have pictures of the rust free Texas quad cab that I will be posting when I find the cord for my camera. I got the cab with fenders detached all doors and glass for 1200 I need some help in an estimate on the weight of the cab with doors. I have two trailers I can use to pick it up I'd like to use the small one that way I can push it around but I'm limited to 1500 pounds capacity do you guys think with all doors glass and most of the interior it will weigh under 1500? I wouldn't think so but I haven't even had a door off yet so I'm guessing at best but being there is no b pillar I would anticipate a higher we…

I had an issue with both of my quad cab doors wouldn't open using the inside door handles. I took the door panels off and found the cable that goes from the inside handle the the outside one was broke where in anchors in the door panel. Apologize for the crummy pictures but its the best my camera will do. Hopefully this will help somebody else out so they know what to look for.

Voltmeter dropped off and "Check gauges" light dinged at me on the way to work yesterday. Got out the ol' voltmeter and tested the alternator-- sure enough, not charging. Just curious about which amperage the stock alternator is (napa has several listed) and if the brushes are replaceable in it or not. My Chilton manual says no, but I was suspicious that may just be to cover their hind quarters against people who have no business inside an alternator. As a side note, I was impressed with how little the batteries drained on the drive home! I guess with no ignition system to be running, there isn't a whole lot of load on the batteries other than the PCM (I kept the lights, w…

My truck is a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500, Cummins Diesel, 4x4.I am having an issue with truck wanting to steer to the right. Replaced all the front end components (Big $$$) and then had the front-end aligned at a local shop. The tech there told me everything was perfect in the front end, however the rear axle is 1/4" front-to-rear out of alignment and that he is not allowed to do anything to the rear axle because its non-adjustable. He asked me if the truck had been in a wreck (no), and if I had done much pulling (yes). I have pulled sevral trailers cross country with this truck. So I drove the truck home, looked at it real good, I can't see anything wrong or broken. Is it possib…

OK. I just got a brand new set of BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO 315/75R-16 tires on my 2002. I am considering a set of the Centramic Tire Balancer disks to minimize vibration and tire wear. So far, it appears that the correct Centramic Tire balancer disk is part # 300-308 and a set of spacers for the fronts for clearance of the brake caliper and balancer ring against the wheel. I am running the OEM factory aluminum Dodge wheels. Is anyone using these balancers on their truck in the same configuration as mine? If so, what is your appaisal of these balancers and what if any problems or fitment issues did you have. Thanks!

It's been cold at night here lately so I've been plugging in the block heater. This last week it was quite a bit colder (single digits) and the truck has become significantly harder to start. I tested the extension cord (plugged in a drill) and it's fine. What sort of resistance should I look for on the heater? Does it just have a hard time keeping up when it gets that cold or could it have failed? Before, the valve cover would be noticeably warm when the heater was plugged in, now it's not.

Hello to all. I have been studying the thread about wiring driving/fog lamps but have not found the precise answers to my query.(http://forum.mopar1973man.com/threads/6783-Fog-light-wiring?p=64203#post64203) I understand that the wiring diagram is the way to go if you would like to add an additional switch, but on my 00 2500 CTD, I have the factory switch, less the factory bumper or lights, and also after checking out a truck on a local lot, the factory wiring harness. I had fog lamps that were not hooked up when I purchased the truck, but they were broken, not wired and non-operable. I bought some enexpensive lights, and started wiring per instructions. I have two wire l…

Backing out of Dear Daughter's over Christmas... noticed lack of back up lights. (Driver's side out, passenger's came on... though it was still pretty dark backing out of her driveway.) I have a whole bin of bulbs... nope, not the right type. Off to the store I go. I buy # 3156... thinking single function backup lamps would be single filament. The lamps that came out are dual filament # 3157s. Well, I'd grabbed some spare # 3157s at the store, off the next peg, so I stuck them in... but I'm still scratching my head... Are these normally # 3157s or # 3156s? I'm trying to test the removed bulbs... look good... but it's like trying to hang onto a greased eel. …

The '00 did it again this week, no powersteering or brakes. (below ~1500 engine rpm). This is the 3rd time it's done it since FiL bought it 10 years ago. Dealer bent him over both times..... I guess it's my turn! It's got the typical seep at the steering gear, and takes about a quart a year to keep it topped off.. I do have the seal kit onhand. Before I attack this problem, is there anything to check before swapping out the pump? It doesn't sing or whine... and yes, it's full of fluid. Is there a inline filter somewhere to check? The last one was replaced because it doing the same thing, AND it was putting a ton of air in t…

I found the ball joints on my truck were loose so I am going to replace them with MOOG stuff this weekend and I was thinking about investing in a decent ball joint press. Has anybody out there used one, if so what brand were you happy with? Is there any tricks that you have learned after changing yours?
