So i have been slowly saving up to work on my old 1974 D300. Today i Rhino-lined(Rust-o-lieum Brand Roll on)my inside cab and also the cab corners to front fenders. I got one good coat gonna add 2 more one tomorrow and one the next day. I removed the Factory bench seat and put in a couple captains chairs from a caravan in it (SO much better now). I plan on making a custom wood Dash and center console/Cup holder between the seats and put a 2001 dodge reg cab cab box behind the seat's to finish it off. But I have a question i need both bottom front fender's, both kick panel's, bottom of both door's and the cab corner's. I See LMC offers them but the are really high, Keyston…

I have a 2002 2500 with the factory towing package. The truck was used to tow a 5th wheel all over the country before I got it. Now I am about to tow something with the truck and the place I am renting the trailer from (U-Haul) is asking what are the ratings on the tow hitch. Cannot find anything about it on the net... Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, FT

What year and options would be considered the Holy Grail of Ram trucks? The one that most would want to buy given many choices. I wish I could have found a 3,500 that is not a dually. I opted for a 2,500 2001.5 with automatic transmission. Hard to find a well cared for truck with manual transmission on the market. I am seeing some of these on craigslist for over $20k. So the $10k I soent for mine will allow for lots of mods before I spend $20k. A straight, well cared for and stock automatic is much easier to find.

I just bought this truck and want to drain trans fluid, what fluid does it take?

Not sure what trans is in it but when idling it sounds fine but when you put it in drive it bogs down and dies. Dodge Has new plugs, rotor, wires, trans fluid change.

Well the wife and I just got done with a 5k trip pulling roughly 10k in weight. For a 14 year old Ram 3500 with 240,000 miles, I am very pleased. Average of 13 mpg and no issuses with the truck.

Did an end to end full service a couple weeks ago on my 2010 Dodge Hemi 1500 and today I started it and noticed a puff of blue smoke at initial start. The cab fan is sqealling like a bearing or brush is going bad, been progressively getting worse the last 6 months. Since I serviced the tranny I notice it is slow to built tranny pressure at initial startup and shift into gear. Wondering if the aftermarket filter came off or loose It has 2 internal filters the standard sump and a spin on TC filter on the cooler line with a cheesy plastic filter stud. If I put it in neutral for a few seconds before going into gear it is ok but let it idle for about 10 seconds in park and…

OK, wanting to put air bags on my 2010 1500 4X4 Hemi.I have not followed air bag thread very close as I have not needed them for my 2500's but I am wanting to install a Gooseneck ball in my 1500 so I have a backup tow rig since my main trailers are goosenecks, not that I would pull them loaded but would like the ability to move the trailers around and transport them with my 1500 as well.I know there are several brands and I am not looking to install a compressor, I would adjust and set them to a set pressure manually and just want remote access hose and stems for now. What are the best ones for my application keeping in mind that the Dodge 1500 has rear coil springs and no…

For those of you running a 285/75/17 (or larger) tire, what do you do for a spare? Im about to pull the trigger on a set but I need to be able to carry a spare. There is only a hair over 33' between the frame rails, not quite enough. I'm thinking I may scab in a few pieces of angle iron the same depth of the frame rail so that the spare rests flat against the frame and the angle, but that also means it will now be hanging down 3 to 4" lower. Just curious if you guys have come up with any other solutions.JR

It's been happening a while … when I start my windshield wipers in the variable timer mode; [*]On the first swipe the wipers will swing up and pause, then finish the swipe and continue working. [*]Or, it will do the first full swipe and pause on the return swipe, then work properly. [*]After the first swing and the pause happen, they work properly for a while, but will do it again if run for any real length of time. [*]No set pattern except for the first swipe. [*]Now, if I turn them on in the constant wipe mode (slow speed or fast speed) it will work properly. This started a couple months back, and is not normal for the truck. [*]I clean…

Well gang. I'm now switched over to the little 1/2 ton truck and going to see how far I can reach with MPG's on it. Using what I've learn with the Cummins I'm going to use against the 5.9L V8 Magnum engine and see how far I can reach. So far just with a simple trip to Riggins, ID and back I right there at 20 MPG. :hyper:Tmg - Total For the Tank MPG'sCmg - Total for the Day MPG's30 mile round trip

Hello all. I'm a new member with a 2008 dodge 2500 6.7l. I joined the site to ask what the pros and cons are with adding a programmer and what deletes would be best and if they will throw diagnostic codes. Not looking to screw my truck up mainly looking to increase fuel mileage. Currently is 13-14 with a heavy foot and 14-15 with a lite foot. Any information on the best products out there and what the do's and dont's are would greatly be appreciated.

I have a 2001 Quad Cab Cummins 4x4 short box and I love my truck, especially since I haven't had a truck payment in the last 8 years. I purchased my truck new but my kids are not getting any smaller and that back seat isn't getting any bigger. I got permission from "head-quarters" that I can start looking for a new/used truck. I refuse to buy a new truck due to the $50k+ price tag so a used truck is in order. I have a larger 4" turbo on my truck along with the BHAF system, full gauges and of course 2 new fuel pumps. So, my question is what truck (year) would you purchase. I would like to stick with my Dodge but honestly I am open to any diesel truck. Do any of them…

Got home last night from Independence Kansas. 1000 miles round trip. Took the '00 and the 24' flat deck to pick up a Vermeer round baler. I gotta say, I REALLY lucked out, dodging wave after wave of storms! Man, what a sticky hot trip..(didn't get the AC going yet) :banghead: Running empty, and bucking a 30 mph head wind down... I got about 13-14 mpg, running 65-70. Didn't fare near as well coming home.. I did have a little help with a tail wind, but that not-too-aerodynamic baler which weighs 7500# plus the trailer ~5500 kept me in the sub 10's for the return run. I ran about 60-65 …

My cherokee has had this problem for a few months now. I changed the head gasket a few weeks ago and it barely made a difference other than fixing all the burning oil. It is fine for like half an hour, then it just starts getting carried away. It goes to 210 just fine, hangs there for a long time, but then it just starts creeping up to 220-230. I had to take my dad to the airport today in kansas city which is 80 miles or something away and being a business trip on his part I didn't need this thing overheating. I got a thermostat and water pump and changed them out, however the old ones were fine. Thermostats both opened in boiling water around the same time (new vs …

My son's 'Townsman' (4-door stationwagon) will be getting a transplant soon. Dodge 440/auto from a '76? motorhome. The 440 is a front sump setup, but it looks like the Dodge chunk will fit quite nicely once we get the back sump/pickup installed. Any of you guys done a swap like this? Was looking for commercial motor mounts, but may end up making them. The 'bowtie' purists can have a nice day!

What is the difference between a Cummins and V10 tranny? Governor for shift points? TC? the internals should be the same for strength, I think?
