My center light has sprung a leak, and when it rains hard (i.e., every afternoon during the Florida summer monsoon season) I get some drips coming out of my overhead console.

Clearly, this cannot stand, so I need some new ones. Anybody switched to LEDs or the 4th-gen style, or anything different? :thumb1:

Basically the rubber seals are shot. You just need to replace them. When you do put a small amount of silicone on the rubber seals. I would highly suggest to stay with exactly what you got so you don't risk having to drill new holes or have sealing issues.

Is there a source (Grote?) for the seals? I can't imagine too many dealers still have many parts laying on the shelves after 13 years...

I put 4th gen ones on my 3rd gen and they were a perfect fit. Do 2nd gens use the same screw pattern?

The 3rd and 4th gen have the screws front and back.  Our 2nd gens have them side by side.post-1146-0-34020200-1438536262_thumb.jppost-1146-0-66247800-1438536301_thumb.jp

I bought a set of new clearance lights from the dealer.  They are identical to the originals.  I suspect the foam seal is bad or there maybe a crack in the plastic.  I want to say they were about $40 to $50 for the set.

Led recons are garbage! Last time I bought aftermarket cab lights, I went with Pacer with standard bulbs and never had any problems. You will have to trim the rubber around the bulb socket to get them to fit inside the pacer or recon housings as the oem sockets are a bit bigger.

One of the few reason I never did the overhead clearance light mod to my truck I knew this is a problem as light age and seal start leaking. The you stuck looking for solutions... Most of our older fire trucks are now having this same problem with roof leaks. In our case its a tube of silicone to fix the issues. But in the case here most are going to want fresh seals or updated lights.

Thanks abenin, I guess I'm calling the dealer!

I've got blacked out lights off of ebay with white LED's. I really like the way they look and haven't leaked....yet.
