The time has come to produce the Mopar1973Man High Idle & MPG fooler switches again.

Posted

Well Gang,

The Board of Directors on the Mopar1973Man.com has decided that we need to produce some new High Idle Switches for the 2nd gen 24V Cummins.  We have spent a considerable amount of time designing a Brand New High Idle / MPG fooler Switch.

We have learned from the last switch design and have made significant improvements.  The New High Idle / MPG Fooler switch will be the same price as before, but it will be more robust and modular to allow for easier install.

We have decided to only offer a "Install Anywhere  Kit" rather than a gauge mount or Cubby Mount.  You will nly have to drill one 1/4" hole to allow for the fitment of the switch.

Some teaser pictures.

We are making 50 switches to start then another run of 50 after that.  You can order them from The Mopar1973Man.com Store I expect to have them ready to ship within a 6 week time.

Nice work! Now that the store is up and running it shouldn't be long :stirthepot:

Mike, I just want to make sure I read your post correctly: the wire harness is too short to reach the overhead console, but it will be easy to extend?

I'm also wondering what the difference is between the various mounting style versions, and the cheaper unassembled version? Does it just not come with a specific way to mount the switch?

This batch we are making just the standard length. So no it will not reach. But the next batch we  should be able to make a few longer ones. Might as Me78569 if he'll make you custom long one...

I don't have anything to extent the current switch, all of our wire is being used on this first batch.

There is only one version of the switch, so no cheaper version.  The switch is meant to mount wherever you want within the 10' cable length.  You will have to clean the place you want the switch, dry, apply sticker. then drill out the white part of the sticker and then mount the switch through the hole.

While I wouldn't recommend it, you could always cut the wires and extend it.

That would void your warranty though.

There is only one version of the switch, so no cheaper version.

Maybe this will change when they actually go on sale, but last time I looked at the store, there were a few switches for sale for $150 (cubby mount, pod mount, ect) and then one that was cheaper. I thought it said "unassembled". I can't check right now because the page says down for maintenance.

That was the old switch, which was produced by someone else. It was not through this site.

These are a different, more stout design made my Nick and sold through this site. The new ones are in no way affiliated with the old ones.

Give me a second and I will add a out of country shipping time

Cost to ship to canada is 20.25 so that will be addded.  Select the Canadian USPS flat rate shipping.

Should be working now. I've been busy tuning in the server for the software sorry for the error message.

Mopar1973Man - I am still getting the same error, and I completely understand on how you have been busy tuning the server.  So no rush but just wanted you to be aware.

Is there a specific place these are made to mount? Or is it take your pick and put it where you want?
