My tires need replaced before winter makes its head. What's the popular suggestion for tires these days?

I'm half pave half off road. It snows a boat load in the winter. I'd like something with a high load rating, but also aggressive enough to keep my traction and give me longevity. While i realize I'm asking for the perfect tire, there has to be something close!

I'm thinking about going with oem size tires also. But I've also wondered about different wheels and sizes.

So what's everyone say...

best tire's i've had in snow so far was cooper AT3's next would be the BFG AT Ko2's then the Michelin LTX A/T 2's as for road noise and longevity i'd have to vote for the LTX's  they are awesome

Same goes for a stock trailer full of critters that weigh 1200-2k lbs and jostling around.

Although i didn't read into it far enough to know whether he had a true b2b design, but I'm on the assumption he did since it was posted last year.

I just have to say I have really liked my wardens so far.   I have 3 vehicles with them.  ( I have friends with 3 more sets.  2 on 6.5 diesel Suburbasaurus and one on a toyota 4 runner. )    No problems.  I tow heavy with rattle monster too.

I used them (tires of the re-mold process) on my dirt track and autocross cars in the late 80's and early 90's.   Especially for autocross, they were amazing!  I could get a killer soft compound, and still have DOT validity (The class I was in I could not use "race only" tires).

I am not saying that they can't have troubles, but new tires from the big guys can too.

If you get to see the re-molding process, it is darn good.  (waaayyy different from the old system our parents (ok most of our parents) warned us about.)  It keeps quite a bit of tires out of the land fill too.

Spend your money where you are comfortable.  I am presently happy with the products from treadwright.

Hag

I can't even count how many brand new brand name "E" rated trailer tires i have had the tread peel off and leave only the cords and casing over the years.

Looking to see if you're still liking the Hankook's now that you have some more mileage? @Mopar1973Man

I'll have to look at my invoice for the mileage I purchased at but I've driven the royal hell out of these tires. I'd be willing to buy another set of these tires. Worked awesome in the snow and ice just run -5 PSI on mt calc'ed pressures. Now I'm running right at calc'ed pressures.
