Okay guys I'm new to the forum here and I need some help. I have a 1999 24v and on my way to work the other day my truck died on me and completely shut off in the middle of the road. It didnt have any weird symptoms before this happened it just died and now will not restart. Any ideas as to what this could be or where I could begin trouble shooting this?

I would begin with reading the error codes.

Then you need to test the fuel pressure to the pump.

Once you have those answers, you can move on to the next steps.

You might have lost electrical power to a key component.  Check connections at the PDC, ECM and injection pump.  Also check fuse and relays that power up those systems.

Going with IBMobile suggestion with the PDC. I've seen it myself where fuses will crack and under load the fuses will open up breaking connection but in a short time cool and make connection again like an automatic circuit breaker. So visual inspection you might just see a normal looking fuses that's not blown but during the failure you might find a fuse with ohm resistance.

The only time mine did the same thing was when the OE lift failed. Just shut off and would not restart. All the above are good advice also. Reading the codes would help you find a starting place.

Thank you for all of the advice guy I really appreciate it and I'm gonna get on it this after noon

My truck left me stranded the same way.  My VP44 died on me, no warning signs--just died.  Check for error codes that will get you going in the right direction.
