I havent been here in awhile

Has anyone researched the new Delo oil labeling containers you see at the store

Delo 400 SDE SAE 15W-40

Im wondering if the changed the zinc/phosphorous and other content  from what the 400LE was?

Edit:

Yep, they sure did take out some Zinc and Phosphorus

Personally I won't worry about it. We went through the same scare about going from CI-4 to CJ-4... My truck is running fine still. I really doubt oil companies would sell an oil that causes damage. It

just look for a CK SM not SN, if it retains the SN, it lost the good stuff. retella T4 or T5 has the SM rating and not the SN, so it's still the good ol oil. as is Valvoline offerings.

I'm sure they put something way better in there to compensate

Yeah,  I had called Chevron tech and asked the guy that. He said he didnt know and "they" dont tell anyone

I had researched bunch of PQIA (Petroleum Quality Institute of America) unused new oil sample analysis a while back comparing delo, rotela, valvoline etc. Bob the Oil Guy site is good too

I got enough of old type oil to last another 30k and then I'll start worrying. Worst case scenario will go back to amsoil as their 15w40 diesel and marine I'd good stuff.

I noticed this same oil down at the local Chevron Station. I was talking to my buddy that runs the shop side and was doing an oil change on a Ford 7.3L Diesel and was shocked to see he carried the oil and was rather clueless of the changes.

Hmmm. I've got 2500 miles on my current newer DELO SDE oil. Should I drop it and put the old stuff in ?
