All my hoses are original in 2001 with 107,000 miles.  Hoses don't look bad on the outside.  No cracking, leaking or soft spots. Maybe they fall apart on the inside first?  17 years old,  time to replace or am I lucky or whatever?    I'd rather fix in my driveway than along road somewhere, if they are reaching the end of their life span.

How long of time do you get out of hoses?

Should be fine but if you need something to do or have extra cash change them out. Keep old ones just in case, new crap doesn't seem to last as long.

I replaced mine maybe 2 years ago. I swear they still looked fine but just decided to replace because of how long I had them and the 350k or so miles on them. I actually blew the off end of my stock radiator and left the old hoses on when I replaced it 4 years or so ago. I think they are indestructible.  Of course that is not true but it seems that way.

85k on my stock hoses and they look good still.  But who knows could go tomorrow or years from now.

I think you should do what you think is best.  You will sleep better knowing you made the right decision.

169k on my 01 2500.  Still look in great shape.   I check belts and hoses every oil change.

Before I went on vacation I bought a set of replacement hoses from RockAuto.   They don't cost that much.  My original  hoses, had just over 94,000mi on them and still looked good so the new hoses went under the back seat.   Ran the truck over 4,000mi and 110hr pulling an 8,000lb 5th wheel, hoses still look good and had the peace of mind that the hoses were there if I needed them.  I also put a new Timbos APP under there but what I really needed under the seat was a VP44:doh:

"but what I really needed under the seat was a VP44."

Me to,  I was surprised when I wanted to buy a spare to keep under the seat.  The place only gave me so many days before I lost core charge.
