Wanted to use some of you fellas experience. My ecm quit powering lift pump so most likely will need to replace it.  When I lost fuel pressure, engine began to sputter till fuel pressure returned and got a p0216.  AC voltage is ok and code hasn’t returned since cleared. Do you think my VP is ok and code showed up because I lost fuel pressure or is injection pump gone too?

@Mopar1973Man Yes pump has a relay. Actually the in-tank pump had a relay. @dripleyI’m not sure about much except when I lost pressure, truck began running badly and as soon as pressure came back truck smoothed out completely.

If you could rig your volt meter to the power for the Raptor you could at least tell whether you have good power to the LP from the ECM when it acts up. This could be the LP, VP, or the ECM. When my in tank pump was getting weak it caused some bucking and dead peadal issues that were resolved with a booster pump.

I disconnected lift pump from ecm, hooked to 12 volts and drove 40 miles pulling a load and seemed fine. I didn’t want to take a chance on starving VP44 any more.

If the Raptor is damaged from fuel on the brushes it will happen again this why I mention it and so you could check. Tha what happen to my AirDog 150 after 13 years of service the seal and shaft bearing failed and quit blowing the fuse.  I would highly suggest checking the cause out if it is the ECM fault then I suggest getting it fixed. Two things can happen forget to turn on the fuel pump in a hurry or have an accident and being unconscious and having manually switch pump feeding a fire. Either way a bad deal...

While you hot wire you ought to mo itor the the voltage coming out of the ECM pigtail to see if the problem lies there or maybe in the relay harness for the Raptor. Hate to see you rebuild an ECM when the problem might be elsewhere.

My son took truck to town and had trouble getting back. Scanner shows no codes. Key codes are: P0123

P1694

P1693

P1687

I just had a belly hernia repaired and am pretty sore so may not be doing much for a while. I guess will have plenty of time to read.

If you have time, take it. Research never hurts on electronics.

Take it easy. Plenty to read and ask questions. @Taz also had the same thing done it changes your life.

Any idea why my scanner didn’t show any codes when I had it hooked up?
