A little while ago i posted about an engine knocking/pulsating sound. I changed injectors and adjusted valves and the noise is still there. The engine is definitely more rattly since I first got the truck 6 years ago.

I also got an oil test and everything came back ABOVE average. Has the same amount of blowby as it always had at operating temp.

Where do I go from here after doing all of this? Is there an engine condition that wouldn't show up on an oil test? Can an injection pump thats going out cause noises? Where do I go from here?

Video below to hear what you guys think.

That would suck.

That would suck. Sorry, but I have little sympathy for people that have no respect for a good machine.

I've had people ask me to take a look at what's wrong with a truck. Pop the hood and it's like a garbage pile under there. I just want to go home and hide. :burnout:

He is the one I sold my pristine 95 dually too and he destroyed it.

Some people really don't care. I see plenty of totally beat Dodge / Ram Trucks.

Big shot in the dark but....

My truck I've noticed being more "pingy" at times, and its caught my attention to where I open the hood to investigate. I grabbed the alternator brakcet( I was just checking whatever could be loose) and sure enough, it was much quieter. Let it go, its louder.

Again, a shot in the dark, and it may not even be the noise your talking about. I'd describe it as rattly or pingy

Thanks for the input everyone. If it keeps bothering me ill put an aftermarket intake with a closed in box on the fender like stock. Maybe that'll muffle it.

Mine did with the stock box and filter. But the K N allowed the sound thru it like the BHAF, just a bit softer on the sound.
