It has been said that an acre of forest supports 18 people with enough oxygen to live. So if trees are such a great filter, i.e. taking in carbon monoxide and other micro pollutants and producing oxygen for everyone, do you think we could call them the earths Big Honkin Air filter? I put that in there so you guys might wake up . Anyhow thinking of this 'green solution for pollution as in the use of electric vehicles, you know there is no such thing as a free lunch as in the ramifications of battery waste, chemicals, nuclear waste from electricity..... Wouldn't make more sense to plant and take care of our forest lands and trees? Make more sense to use a fuel that can be filtered, as in Diesel ?

Big bang really thought of us in the long run, as we evolved it evolved a few things for us. It knew we'll use diesel and a few salads along the way. I think beans are part of it.

Anyway, I really believe the trees and other plants are what's filtering the air pollution and providing us with oxygen. Helping to keep a balanced atmosphere, rain is also important, has a lot to do with atmospheric washout.

 

The payment of carbon credits will require more money flow thu the economy and will only help to increase degradation. As said before, the level of GDP has a direct correlation to the amount of waste and pollution. GDP can therefore be used as a boost gauge on environmental impact.

Carbon credits is just paying to pollute.

Companies that can't meet epa regulations buy "credits" from companies that can. Given company is allowed to pollute to a "scale" of ten, but manages to pollute to a scale of eight, they get to sell their "credit" of two to another company that can now pollute to twelve and avoid epa fines because they bought "credits". The planet is still being polluted horribly with no gain. Epa government logic at it's best. "Credits" do NOTHING to curb pollution. They only allow money to change hands. It's a joke.

  Just another way, out of thin air, for the government to confiscate money; of course that tax is past on to the consumer.  So, it is just another hidden tax on the proletariat.

Yeah... S**t's always going to flow down hill, and when corporations get taxed more, regardless of the reason, the working class has to suffer. The buck always gets past down to where it stops.
