Posted December 21, 20222 yr Staff Anyone ever cover your heater hoses with pipe insulation? Might be some benefit there I really like Tractorman's fire proof engine blanket Very high quality. Edited December 22, 20222 yr by JAG1
December 21, 20222 yr Owner Nope. My vent temp at ZERO degrees outside I'm still 160°F. Just had a period of 3 hours of sitting in my truck at 0°F out and comfortable 70°F to 80°F inside at an idle. Just using a NAPA 190°F thermostat.
December 22, 20222 yr Author Staff I'm going to try adding some insulation there as long as it won't melt on the manifold. I could cover the pipe insulation with aluminum reflective tape as well.
December 22, 20222 yr Staff I wouldn't think it would be necessary. Unless mayne you were in some extreme cold.
December 22, 20222 yr @JAG1wants to insulate them so they will already be warm when he starts his truck on a cold morning. He's thinking ahead! (Holding back sarcasm makes me physically ill, so I had to let some out) 5 below zero here this morning. - John Edited December 22, 20222 yr by Tractorman

Most do try to stay on topic but, hey in a real world many things are related.
December 28, 20222 yr Owner Ummm... I made a trip to Donnelly ID with @Honey Badger she was getting her hair done. I waited out in the truck working on stuff on the website. It was a mere +9*F out and when she got back in the truck she was rolling down the windows because it was too hot in the cab. I can cook you in the cab of my truck at any temperature outside.
