I would just do the tappet cover for sure. It will make access easy for removal / installation of the tappet cover - something you don't want to fight. - John

there's some leaking at the tappet and minor seepage at the vacuum/PS pump. I'm sort of in a mode now to just fix things when they break but probably makes sense to in this instance to take care of it

You're right, it makes sense....
All - planning a VP44 replacement soon and I'm wondering while in the vicinity if I should take care of a few other things. Namely tappet cover gasket, vacuum/steering pump seal, cam sensor. Think this "while i'm there" question has been asked a million times. What say the folks here?
