I finally pulled the trigger. The OEM filter had to go. It's been on there the 3 years or so that I've owned the truck. Filter minder wasn't showing anything but it was filthy anyway.

So it was time for a BHAF. I had to replace the air filter anyway so why not upgrade?

I just cut some pieces of fuel hose and pushed onto the studs and the BHAF sits on those.  So far, no issues and its been that way for about 5 years.

Now before too much time goes by make sure to make a filter stand so the 3 studs don't eat holes into the air filter. Flat plate of aluminum and 3 nuts below and the plate then 3 nuts on top. Set it up in a way that the top nuts are flush with the top of the stud.

On a side note, I love being able to hear the turbo spool now.

What have yall found to put in the neck of the Vulcan BHF filter to keep it from collapsing? Over the years I've just been careful to not over tighten and goten by this long.

I used a piece of 4" triple wall solid drainpipe, about 6" long, that I cut from a pipe I found lying in my yard.
