EPA or CARB certified tuner

What is a good EPA or CARB certified tuner? Utah has changed some laws and the Adrenaline is no longer legal in my county.🤬

How are the Smarty tuners? Do they have any timing adjustment capabilities?

Any experience with Edge Juice w/Attitude?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Also, wasn't there somewhere to sell items on here? Anybody looking for an Adrenaline w/IQuad?

I have lots of questions to how this is even an issue and who would even know?

No. Basically just 1 to 5 levels but no custom timing. Unless your pockets are super deep for about $2000 you can buy Smarty Touch but its still only a 60 HP tuner.

I left them because of lack of timing and custom timing adjustments.

Doesn't exist, really. Anything that modifies fuel or timing is NOT EPA or CARB certified; basically, anything that can change the stock tune is illegal. Tuners of any type, larger injectors are modifying the fuel flow amounts. Basically, we all deal with keeping our truck running clean and tuned.

I would take some time and relocate all the tuner module under the dash. What they cannot see can't be illegal. The biggest thing is making sure your tune does not smoke! There is a way of making completely clean tunes. I wouldn't give up your tuner. Another idea is to remove all of it, do the inspection, and hook it all back up.

Good idea on hiding the tuner. I believe that can be done and will be the way forward. Right now I am disputing the ruling since the county told me the tuner has always been illegal and they (the county) performed my emissions test for the past 12 years with nothing ever said about the tuner in plain site under the hood.

As far as smoke, I have none. My tune is spot on and getting 20MPG not towing. I do have 100hp injectors but I also have a 62/64 DAP stage 2 towing turbo which cleans up any excess fuel without smoke.

FYI most EDGE tuners are CARB compliant since the tunes are set and non adjustable.

Thank you for your input. I am hesitant to change tuners because of the lack of timing adjustment.

Some one turned me in to the county for excessive emissions from the tail pipe. I call BS since I know better, I think they were mad their BMW wouldn't keep up.

Umm. This is why I love the Quadzilla Tuner: you can control smoke and produce a clean tune. Just most people over-tune (excessive fuel & timing). There is a way to get the most out of the tuner, but you have to think about what you are setting up and your driving style. Fuel should not be above 100% till you need to pass someone, and you should not need added fuel to drive on a normal highway. In other words, build a tune that you can normally drive at 100% fuel till say 15 PSI of boost, then ramp up above 100%. As for timing, yeah, you can go anywhere but... Retarding helps with launching and building boost, so make sure your 1500 RPM band is low, say 12 or 13 degrees. Excessive timing will prevent boost building, and yeah, creates smoke when you roll into the throttle, it should RETARD to spool.

If you want stupid power build that a totally different tune you use in private. 😉

Yeah one reason I dumped Edge long ago...

I have an old economy tune you had posted on here back in 2020ish. I have made a few tweaks over the years but I have been running it sine 2021 and it serves me well and doesn't smoke, that is why I think the claim is BS. I also use one of your old tow tunes that I have tweaked a little. works great for 12k lbs.

Thank you for the advice, this site helped me tremendously in the past and I still peak once in a while.
