March 10, 201114 yr Author some guy's told me levelling kits aren't the best, they recommend the lift kit
March 11, 201114 yr If you get the steel leveling kit they work great. I have ran them for years with no problem.
March 11, 201114 yr Are you running stock shocks with your 2 inch level elkslayer?Sent from my T-Mobile G2
March 11, 201114 yr +1 to ELKs statements. I, too, run the steel ones, w/stock shocks.36s ain't gonna fit, though.
March 12, 201114 yr Owner I had to think about this a bit but I installed a leveling kit on a 04 Dodge awhile back and used the stock shocks as well but just used the leveling spacers for the springs... Owner loved it...
March 14, 201114 yr Author what do you get in a levelling kit? How's the installation? So a 2" levelling would do the job for 35" tires
March 14, 201114 yr I have the skyjacker d251k.I didnt use the add a leaf in the rear. The guy i bought this truck from had a camper in the bed so that was allready in.
March 14, 201114 yr Author mine is the same it has the extra leaf ,the guy had a fifthwheel,so I don't have to do change anything in the rear,so what do I have to get for a levelling kit,Iwant to fit 35's
March 14, 201114 yr I got mine from ebay for like 65.00. You just drop the frontend one side at a time. Take the spring out and bolt the spacer in. Then put it all back. One side at a time.Takes 2 to 3hrs.
March 15, 201114 yr Author is that all you have to do to fit 35's? --- Update to the previous post... I was told you need longer shocks? --- Update to the previous post... the shop in my area wants to sell me some mito toyo 315 75 16 at $159. each and polished aluminium rims at $ 175. each, are aluminium rims OK for the cummins pick up?This is canadian $ I think the pricing is OK,do ypu's guys recommend a different tire?
March 25, 201114 yr Author is :cookoo:there a trick on installing the spacer, the only way I see it you have to compress the springs
March 25, 201114 yr disconnecting the shocks will allow the front axle to droop enough to almost have enough room. you'll be able to get the springs out, but putting it back together required I take the UCAs loose to get enough droop to fit it back with the spacers.. 2-3 hrs total.
March 25, 201114 yr Author UCAs what do you mean by that,I'm at the point my springs are out I need 1" to make 'em fit, some one mention you have to compress the springs?
March 25, 201114 yr UCAs what do you mean by that,I'm at the point my springs are out I need 1" to make 'em fit, some one mention you have to compress the springs? UCAs = Upper Control Arms We use a rachet strap on each side to compress the spring. you can also rent coil spring compressors from AutoZone.. At least, you used to be able to.. :edit: Yep, still can. $50 rental, refunded upon return.. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/OEM-Strut-spring-compressor/_/N-25f9?counter=1&itemIdentifier=555557_0_0_
March 25, 201114 yr when you put the 2 in leveling kit in will this effect steering or tire wear in any way ?
