These are all very common issues with this model truck. I had to do all of my front end around 115,000 miles. My truck had the death wobble and the whole nine.

just did mine at 220k for the first time. pulled to the right and a fair amount of play in the wheel. no death wbble though. drives better than new now.

this is next on my list. steering keeps getting loosier

My truck is pretty tight, at 74K miles. I do a lot of dirt road driving and towing, and normally my front axle is at or above GAWR, never below 90% loaded. I am currently planning to go thru the front end next spring, I will have about 80K miles on the front end and that's pretty decent, some get 40K and some get 150K.

I had to replace the ball joints at 64.000 the left one was bad so I did both of them. I have a 100gal fuel tank behind the cab so I think this help out by having the extra weight in front.

My 05;s ball joints were shot at around 40k, I put Carli joints in it so I will never have to worry about them again.Never had an issue with my 02 ball joints or axle u-joints even with the extra weight from the ranch hand bumper. mostly country road and bad pavement miles for 9 years and 140K miles. The rest of the steering is a different story though.:wow:

Maybe it has a lot to do with driving around the pot holes, opposed dot seeing them and driving straight through them, thinking oops. that'll hurt:banghead:
