I get this short high pitch squeal every time I shut the engine off. Sounds like a belt squeal but I`m not sure. neighbor said it could be a bad damper? What say you? Tx. 2001 dodge Ram, 5.9L 47re Trans.

Fairly normal, the motor stops faster than the belt can. I beleive there is a fix, but don't recall at the moment.. could be as simple as a new belt and/or tensioner.

got a new belt on mine. they just sneeze every so often. mine has done it for 10 years.

Put a new belt on mine too. Now, sometimes it does it, some time it doesn`t. Not much to be concerned about I suppose. (hope) Tx.
