Posted August 2, 201113 yr Walmart has a Fram oil filter that says it is for synthetic oil and you change it at 10,000 miles. Anybody ever use it? That seems like a long time between oil changes to me. I bought it but I plan to change at 7000 miles. What say you?
August 2, 201113 yr Fram filters don't have the best reputation with a Cummins engine. Do a search for "oil filters" on this site and you will get all the info you would want to know about which is the best! Good luck!

August 3, 201113 yr Author https://dynamic.donaldson.com/webc/WebStore/locator/locator.html Tx The nearest store to me was 55 miles round trip so for this change I`ll stick with NAPA and Rotella 15/40 and check online for the next one. Tx again.
August 4, 201113 yr I live on the Ms. coast and haven`t heard of Donaldson. What store sells it? Call your local Frieghtliner or Cummins Dealer, have engine# ready, don't tell them it's for a Dodge,Baldwin and Fleetguard are also good filters approved by Cummins.

Look online as well, I hear of people getting them shipped for $12. I would try to run a Fleetguard Stratapore or Baldwin before a NAPA. If you do run NAPA be sure to get the XE version.

August 6, 201113 yr avoid K&N and Fram filters like the plague.Use only Cummins approved filters on your motor, the exception are NAPA air filters 2790 or 6637.
