So I finally got my gauges pyro, boost and trans, fuel will have to come later. Egt's are higher than my 01. I can set and idle after coming off the hwy seems like a long time before the temp will come down to 250. Running empty at 60mph with some rolling hill she runs 675, have not got her on flat hwy yet. But my fuel mileage is in the can again 13.75 and I thought I was taking it easy on it. I didnt fuel up at my usual place this time, I hope that's it. I am also running Amsoil concentrate, I got a case of the stuff might as well burn it.This is a auto trans so I might suffer a little on mileage due to that I guess. I got a double deep trans pan I need to get put on. Cost for gauge's install and trans pan (I install Hytech pan) was 800.00 from Diesel Performance Outfitters of Tx. His name is Jared and he's a pretty straight up guy, oh and he's only 5 miles down the road :thumbup2:

Sounds pretty low to me!!!!:2cents:I think some of y'all might need to ride with Mike or I to figure how to truly drive for mileage!!:smart:Just saying!!

I have managed to get 20mpg out of mine on the highway, That is running 65 to 70 mph. If I step out over 70 it goes down to 18 to 18.5. I am happy with that. A 7500 pound tuck getting that kind of milage is not a bad thing. Sure, I would like to get 20+, but with my limited time at home i dont want to spend an extra 2 hours getting there. I did slow down towing the trailer,65 max and picked up about 1.5 mpg by staying 65 and under. I went from 9.8 or 9,9 to 11.35 for the trip to Iowa from Tenn. My V10 2500 got 12mpg highway and 4.5 towing on the highway. So i am happy.

A post I made over on CF.com...

I get up earlier and leave...

241 Miles / 55 MPH = 4.3 Hours

241 Miles / 65 MPH = 3.7 Hours

4.3 Hour - 3.7 Hour = 0.6 Hours (36 minutes difference)

But in just reducing my speed I now gain from old 16-17 MPG to 23-24 MPG.

241 Miles / 17 MPG = 14.1 Gallons * $3.759 = $53.00

241 Miles / 24 MPG = 10.0 Gallons * $3.759 = $37.59

$53.00 - 37.59 = $15.41 Savings...

24 MPG * 35 Gallons = 840 Miles on a tank

17 MPG * 35 Gallons = 595 Miles on a tank...

Just for fun... I live 20 miles from New Meadows, ID proper. Lets say I got to drive to work every day in New Meadows, ID

20 Miles / 55 MPH = 0.36 Hours (21.6 Mintues)

20 Miles / 65 MPH = 0.30 Hours (18 Minutes)

A whole 3.6 minutes difference and I can save fuel and money... You'd have to be nuts not to do it... Also there is no speed limit in my area above 65 MPH. Typically highway speed out here is 45 MPH to 65 MPH. The only place above that is the interstates and I avoid them like the plague. Interstates are plan wasteful.

So what's there hurry about? Posted Image

I rather get up a few minutes earlier to save $15 bucks every day... Posted Image

I am no stranger to getting fuel mileage, maybe not the best but I can get 16.25 mpg hwy and town with my 11125 lbs welding truck with stock eng. and no tuner stock inj.My 05 is out in left feild for some reason, I have gotten 16 in my 05 when mostly hwy driveing. It just sucks fuel when in town.

Your 05 will run a LOT hotter than your 01, up to 1450° when pulling grades. The reason for that is the timing profile for emissions, this is also the reason for the lower mileage. Retarded timing makes less power, more exhaust heat, and lower emissions.

That's what I was told today, he said dont be freaked out when it hit's 1300 under a load. :ahhh:I had no Idea it would get even higher.

You have to delete all diesel common sence about EGT's when looking at gauges on anything stock from 04.5+. If you can't program your brain for that I would get a Smarty Jr, set it on SW1 and drive it like you would your 2nd gen, EGT wise.

another thing is with the egts..and alot of folks dont know this..the C.R.'s have 3 injection pulses per stroke..this is another reason why they are so quite and the turbo sits lower in the engine bay.
