After all this time, they finally caught us. I do wonder why sled pullers completely black out the arena. You can't tell me they make more power that way. But, don't new trucks get 13mpg? Doesn't that mean they have to get a lot more oil out to feed these thirsty trucks, which use diesels to get the oil, and hence emit smoke.... They have the technology to get 30mpg out of these things, I know it. Get rid of emissions, program them to barely haze at WOT and get 30mpg cruising and everything would be cleaner. :2cents:

Yeah, NOx is an issue, but "carbon" is also an issue. And the EPA hasn't shown itself to be a wonderful glowing center of knowledge, good judgement, and wisdom. I hate the EPA, bunch of worthless bureaucrats that do nothing for the environment.

Little bit of scientific truth. The amount of carbon on this planet is the same amount since the beginning of time. Laws of Physics state that nothing can be created or destroyed. So all our truck do is convert liquid version of hydro-carbons into a gassous state of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, etc. Even when you burn hydrogen the end result is water. So some where down the line from plants and organic matter carbon is converted back to liquid state. So the whole theory of green house gases is BS. If it was so we would choke to death when Idaho burned 300,000 or more acres of forest and darkens the skies with dark orange smoke to black plumes of torching trees. A single forest fire emits more pollution than LA California in one year! :cookoo:

F'n smart car batteries are probably more "harmful to the environment" than anything a diesel emits. . . I actually don't give a rat's arse about air pollution. The EPA needs to be completely wiped out. I don't worry about a hole in the ozone, or global warming/cooling, or needing to make our air cleaner, because people are going to breath it for the next billion years - I trust God's plan, and God knows what He's doing. :thumbup2:

I really wonder how long it will be until they ban the old trucks too... Anything not stock. Its such bullshit, they don't have the balls or will to actually go after the guys rolling coal like ________. But they go after the manufacturer of something that is actually pretty cool. But then again, the whole concept of a DPF filter and the environmental standards diesels are held to makes me nuts. I really think that we will see natural gas/diesel trucks soon. That may be our saving grace with these special interest groups, but those trucks will still be obscenely expensive. The amount of money we spend as a country on the "envirionment" is retarded. I love the outdoors as much as anybody. I hunt, fish, and grew up on a farm. Clean air and water is needed. However, the minutia we are striving toward is nothing more than the intentional destruction of our ability to get anything done. They don't want us drilling wells, felling trees, or doing anything. To enviro nuts, humans are vermin. To the prius point... It's all feel good politics! just like the gun rights issue. An assault weapons ban won't do ANYTHING to stop another Sandy Hook shooting. But dangit, it will make somebody feel like the did something.

The only water it would hold with an argument about geenhouse gasses and global warming, Oh, I'm sorry, "climate change", is the offset in carbon emissions. The above statement is true, but I think the only ground they have to stand on is that we are offseting the balance of amount of carbon in the air than compared to the amount that would be in the air if we did not have things that converted the compound molecules to their own atomic structure. They argue about this when they talk about carbon neutrality. They say they only want things used for power that use things currently, like biodiesel. Becaue the biodiesel is not taken from the ground where its been banked from "millions" of years ago. The other argument about wildfires is just like I said about the carbon neutrality. Its not derived from a million year old source but from the current carbon in the environment.

Here is a GREAT argument against people who say we are losing our ozone... Deriving from a source so I can prove my statement: http://askville.amazon.com/lightning-strike-Earth/AnswerViewer.do?requestId=3738117 So with the given data above, 44 flashes a second, we then also come to this conclusion: http://www.envronozone.com/science/ozone_science.htm So when you say you trust in God and what hes doing, you could not be any more SPOT on! :thumbup2:

My fathers friend is a consultant for oil companies and used to work for BP. I think he said BP was looking at getting the truckers to use LPG for fuel as they said they have found a HUGE reserve of it. Idea may not even happen though. Will be a good thing to have though as I would love to supplement my truck.

I work in Oil & Gas. I cut my teeth on natural gas wells. There is a MASSIVE surplus of gas right now that nobody is using and Washington and the special interests don't want us selling overseas... As in, "lets not make any jobs/money for the USA now, because that would increase drilling activity and growth in non politically correct sectors." There is so much opportunity there too! Caterpillar, MAN, MTB, and Cummins all have natural gas / diesel engines. Think about running freight trains off those? Just throw a tanker of gas behind the engines and let her rip! $2.50 gas instead of $4 diesel.
