K I lately I have been extremely considering adding the 2 stroke oil in with my diesel fuel... I have always ran power service without any problems but lately all I have heard about is this 2 stroke oil..... so..... from what i gather it has to be ashless, and to use tcw-3....right?:confused: now I will most likely be using the wal-mart brand because of its availibilty everywhere you go..... so am i to lazy to measure but have been told that a gallon of it should last me 4 full tanks fulls.......if I am either on the right or wrong track please let me know

Sorry to say your going to have to measure. You can't drop a full gallon of 2 cycle oil in an expect to get 4 full tanks of fuel. When I stop for fuel I pump in the amount of fuel and then add 1 oz of oil for every 1 gallon of fuel pumped so if I pumped 14 gallons then I add 14 ozs of 2 cycle oil. I keep a old quart with windows strip pour from a 1 gallon container. 4 years of this I'm still going no injector problems, no injection pump problems... I have been having super luck with Schaeffers Soy shield fuel lube additive. My rigs all run smoother with it, most noticeable at idle notably cold start.

Agree with the above. What I found works out good for me is using a Stihl 2 stroke Oil bottle that treats 5 gallons of gas. I believe the bottle says it holds about 14.1 oz. but if you fill it up to the top, it holds about 16 oz.

I never allow the fuel level to drop below 3/4 of a tank as shown on the fuel gauge which usually nets about 16 gallons of diesel when filling up. This is just about the right mix ratio. I dump the bottle in before refueling and try to use the big over the road truck fuel nozzle whenever possible.

This makes it easy to carry around the 2 stroke oil in the back of my and the wife's truck ready to use.

On a side note, I also carry another Stihl 2 stroke oil bottle filled with Amalgamated Diesel Fuel additive. I use the Amalagamated TDR-WDA formula additive in winter:

This may be a little over kill but it sure beats dealing with gelled or frozen fuel and fuel lines or a frozen Air Dog water separator filter in winter and helps fuel mileage a bit all season.

Once the 2 stroke oil is mixed, it stays mixed in solution pretty well. Perhaps over a really long extended period it may settle out of solution.

The WM 2 cycle oil is TCw3 rated, fine to use. It's all intended to burn clean & that's what you want. I've run WM Tech brand, Pensoil, what ever. I bought a couple of quart bottles of the stuff... I measure into the quart bottles when I "refill them" (about 3/4 full). I compress some of the air out of the bottles & they travel in my door pocket, just pour in a the fuel station, add fuel & go. I carry 2 in each door pocket & that'll carry me through most trips.Russ

I got a false deck in my bed of my truck that has a utility drawer under it. Beside the drawer I got 2 hollows that I keep chains on 1 side and 2 cycle oil on the other. So I keep a 1 gallon jug and old quart bootle to measue with.
