How many holes are in the stock injectors? I thought the stock ones had 5 and  I just got some BD 40hp injectors part #1040275  and they only have 4 holes in the nozzle   I was under the impression that it would have more holes for better atomization... As I was looking online to see if I could find any specs on the BD injectors I stumbled upon  some injectors on Diesel Power Products... http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/p-7530-dodge-12-valve-fuel-injectors-9070-hp.aspx more power then the ones I bought and 1/2 the price... Has any one used DPP injectors and if so what where the results?  

I will be sending the BD injectors back and I will be getting some from DAP. I may even get the 60hp what do you guys think??  Price wise the 60hp are the same as the BD 40's

Well, I can't say how different they would be compared to the 24v, but I have the 75 sticks from DAP. Turn the comp off and the only time they smoke is at first acceleration. With my setup I find it hard to make them smoke, its more of a haze. If I turn the comp on, forget it!

You are correct. The only kind of 'chip' you can put in your truck are potatoe............

Could also be because I  just finished the Ball Joints on Yabba   All 4, even though the only one that was bad was the drivers side lower. I know the guy did the passenger side Just before I bought it in October, but he had installed the driveworks brand and I wanted the Moog Problem Solvers. The boots were already shot on the passenger side anyway. I will post pics later, headed out to aa Drum Circle right now!!!   :hyper:

24V injector - mount directly above the piston.

 

12V injector - mounted at angle above the piston.

Yes, I understand that. But as far as how one injector is setup from another due to different head design, etc.

4 hole injectors are typically marine 155* spray.  They are not generally as desireable.

 

5,6,and 7 hole will generally do better.

 

Micro blind sac are excellent.  There is a reason that the newest injectors for 6.7L cummins and Duramax which have extreme emission controls use SAC nozzles. 

I'm all new to this injector replacement upgrade thing here, I haven't a clue, let us know how it all works out.

What about the ten and over hole injectors? The Industrial Injectors all have over 10? Any benefit?

OMG!!!   WOW!!!     Woke Yabba up and put some giddy up go in his step!!!   I will post some pictures in a bit, I need to go take a shower, feed the horses etc...

I knew your going to say that. Even a small change in injector sizes makes a big impact on performance.

After removing the old injectors, I couldn't believe Yabba was running as well as he has been... (must be all on Heart) The old injectors were soooooooo nasty I have no doubt they were the original injectors. 257,134mi and now we have new life!! Icky huh??

Now, when I tromp on the pedal it jumps up to 80 in the blink of an eye!! Love it!!!

Boy those nozzle where filthy. The first pic and the upper injector you can clearly see the build up around the spray nozzle. I'm sure it was interfering with quality of spray. Need to hitch up more and get some pyrometer temps up and cook those clean. Or that's right Florida don't have any big mountains...

So for you it might be a good idea to follow ISX injector cleaning video about every 100k miles or so. Being a 12V is so easy you could even do it more often. The only change I know to his cleaning method I like is using carburetor dip and it all wipes off. Just make sure to take all rubber off the parts.
