Posted March 24, 201510 yr Anyone ever have trouble with their MAP sensor sticking?? My TST is reading 3-4psi at all times now Can I clean it or just toss it and buy another?
March 24, 201510 yr Author It does plugs in to read boost for the display and let the TST know when to start fueling, but the power comes from a fuse tap.
March 24, 201510 yr Owner Trade sensor with someone else first before buying a $100 dollar sensor. At least verify the sensor is truly the cause and not a bad TST box or wiring issue. Cleaning the sensor will do NOTHING. 0% of all MAP sensors that have clean have ever fix any issues.
March 24, 201510 yr Author All my buddies sold theirs because their parents got tired of funding them. I'm the only one left because I pay for my own crap
March 24, 201510 yr What year is your truck? if it is a 98-00 I will swap you sensors And yes I had a map sensor stick open at 45psi.
March 25, 201510 yr If you do need a sensor, I have a NIB sensor. Personally, i'd Ohm it, then clean it, then ohm it and see if it needs replaced then. It could just be full of crud. Edited March 25, 201510 yr by CSM
March 25, 201510 yr Author What year is your truck? if it is a 98-00 I will swap you sensors And yes I had a map sensor stick open at 45psi. 02... Thanks for the offer though! If you do need a sensor, I have a NIB sensor. Personally, i'd Ohm it, then clean it, then ohm it and see if it needs replaced then. It could just be full of crud. I see what I can do. Maybe magic will happen and it'll start working again
March 25, 201510 yr Author Magic it was today... Back to 0psi and went all the way up to 43, then back to zero. Hopefully it was just a flule
March 25, 201510 yr Author I would check against a mechaincal boost gauge to verify. I've got one... It has read 4psi less than the mechanical, and still is so I think I'm good for now
