  1. oldbeek, this is what happened, got out the paperwork and took a look. ECM software programming failed. Also, in some instances the ECM failed to accurately report diagnostic system information that can result in a failure of certain state-mandated inspection and maintenance tests. After the fail, Chrysler sent me a letter extending the Engine Control Module to lifetime coverage. This ECM extended warranty coverage applies to 2004-2005 2500/3500 5.9L Engine Dodge Ram Trucks. Chrysler had me send them copies of all the work performed and reimbursed the total. Which was a heafty bill. But Chrysler came through!!!
  2. I do think I will look into the Cooper Discoverer AT3's, thanks!!!
  3. Yes, the lift pump was being powered from the ecm when it happened, as the dealer diagnosed, until both died! Stuck out in the middle of no where, out of town, had to have the Chrysler dealer involved.
  4. I'd like to install an on board air compressor also, this information should help my research.

Nice, but the guys that build these race boat motors are what counts.
  6. closupman, I have gone through the same situation as what you describe in your first post. Hopefully what happened to me and my 04' is not what you are going through. The ECM went & took the fuel lift pump with it. That was a pricey ordeal.
  7. Good information, my ECM died a while back and took along the lift pump with it, that was a pricey little situation.
  8. I think Michelins are one of the best tires out there. The LTX M/S has always lasted on my 04' well over 70,000, the A/T's will last almost as long. I run Michelins on my RV also, sorry thing is, they are making them in China now!!!
  9. I will stick with my 04' Cummins, common rail, that I can work on.l
  10. I use Spicers
  11. I had this problem with my 04'.5, looked at everything you did and changed the thermostat and always keep the anti-freeze up to date. What it ended up being was, actuator doors. If the actuators work, the flapper doors can be the problem (as in my case) where the shaft had split and the door would fall back to closed position from an open position. Complete removal of the dash required! What a pain this was. I have the doors temporarly in the open position for now.
  12. I've had mild blowby, but this is something else. Sorry to hear of your situation!!
  13. New to the forum, but glad to hear you are o.k. olred92, have not have this happen, not as of yet.
  14. Zukifreek; running Air Lift air bags on my 2004, 3500 single axle. Made the ride a lot smoother. I pull an 31' Airstream type RV (actually a Silver Streak) across country from Connecticut to California at least twice a year, installed the air bags recently and they seem to make the ride smoother as mentioned and the rear of the truck at the correct height to the front of my truck with the 2" lift kit. - - - Updated - - - Zukifreek; Air Lift air bags $214, after $25.00 on line coupon and $50.00 Rebate & free shipping. I did not purchase on board air compressor at this time.
  15. Dorkweed, thanks, I also have a '04.5. Looks like this is the way I should go. Heard a noise at about the Transfer case, rebuilt the front drive shaft, put it back on and still a noise coming out of the Transfer case, off with the front driveshaft and ready to rebuild the Transfer Case.
  16. I can relate to CSM, I work, read and work. I also read about trucks, guns, planes, National Geographic and more. I do all the work on my diesel, 2004 Dodge Ram.
  17. Good information, in the middle of Transfer case rebuild, may just go with the Warn free spin kit at the same time. Did you install yourself? What was the cost?
