  3. OK!!! i got it!! uh,... the COOL HOSE that is, its in my ram, fits great! INTAKE IS ALL DONE! IS YOUR INTAKE AS COOOOOL AS MINE?!

  5. some more fun! waiting on some of my shop customers to bring their stuff so i dug into the ''TIGHTWAD INTAKE'' it should work well! thanks for the ideas! new deep filter, 4'' pvc down pipe, weather stripping at the fender. i tilted the pvc pipe where it slipped into the flange, [added 2 bolts so it dosnt fall out] & angled the 4'' pipe in the rubber coupler to get the proper angle, that way the flange is flat against the bottom of the air box. lots of silicone to seal the bugger! now, on monday i should be receiving my COOL HOSE , them my intake will be ready to effortlessly 'suck' for a long time! lots of clean cool air = happy engine/happy driver!
  6. thanks all! could i use a lock up [manual control] on my 48re? i had talked w/ my trans. guy [todd @ bench tech trans. in terry hill 'south east' pa] he said 04.5 [?] has the cable to control shifts [?] the 05 has a box on the side of the trans. & that controls shifts ????? i really dont know what i'm typing my question is , can i add a tc lock switch on my 04.5 that will not destroy my trans. if i or someone else is driving & forgets.............wich gears does it lock? THANKS!!

  8. i have a 04.5 w/ the 48RE auto. i was wondering about the tow/haul mode. what does that change? shift points? torque converter lock-up? i'm know that tow/haul mode locks out OD. THANKS!
  9. hope you like them! i posted about my LUND deflectors last week or so.... mine fit into the window channel, sleek fit! Yes they have 3M tape. just dont flex them to hard!, my one broke but LUND replaced them for free!! [ it was my fault]
  10. ok,ok,...you win i ordered a deep pleat drop in air filter.....[does that mean that i'm like OTHER people now??!! ].. i came to my senses.... i just wanted to mod. the s& b filter/air box that i had!!!!!!! cool hose, deep filter, & then work on the cold air hose mod. it'll do! thanks for the input! John,.my box dosnt have the foam at the fender , i would like to see what you find that works!
  11. thank-you, JOHN. are you still using the OEM air 'tube' ? [filter box to turbo] intake muffler still there? i gutted mine , remember, turbo needs to be HEARD! my silencer ring is out as well,. i think the turbo's sound is about right! on my 98 24v i wished i still had my silencer ring , 10 psi boost had an irritating whistle [those dont have the intake muf.] ok for short trips, but long runs..........
  12. i would like your input..... i keep seeing BHAF.. it seems to be reccomended...is this better then a s&b oiled filter? is it a high flow? where do i find one ? fit 4'' od tube? etc. etc. thanks!!
  13. thanks for sharing! i can learn from others '[ BILL, i checked & i have the latest updates.' [smarty jr] i agree that under hood hot air is not a good idea, interesting how many pics of builds show open filters.... i should be receiving my 'cool hose' soon , i like this much better then the metal piping used on some ''cold air'' intakes. also smoother flow path then a gutted intake muffler that i have now. i'm going to see if i can somehow mod. the s&b air box that i have , adding a home depot type drop tube & sealing to the fender hole. thanks fellows, this is what makes these forums so valuable!

  15. we agree michael,.. sad sad sad , many children wounded for iife [to some extent] we all, sometime or another, go through hard times, health & family [parents] problems have been ours.....my wife is my best friend... no, its not easy, but its worth it!!!!!! WHAT IF; what if; we would all take our marriage commitment as seriously as ,...well, no turning back! non! in for life! i remember now that you had started on substance abuse. Praise GOD for lasting marriages! what an example! we all fail each other.... love & forgive, talk it over, pull together, get to really know each other, hard times 'can' bring forth good things! sorry, i'm tired i'm rambling & not sure if i make sense, g-nite.
  16. do mention that you are running an edge comp @ level [5?] that's worth 120 hp. my own expirence is that would rather use smallish injectors and use a programer [etc.]. that way you can turn the power down,.. say, if i would want to use your truck.... my .02....

  18. wow, the eng. stand is impressive! thanks for showing ur project! i rebuild my tractor eng. [piston sleeves where pitted, wet sleeves] & loved it! i still think i should have been an eng. mech..................

  21. I do like it. easy to use & not too many adjustables to tempt me to waste a lot of time! 100hp is good for me! i'm running @ sw2 till i have the funds to service my trans., it leaks & i will prob. be adding a trans-go shift kit.

  25. Good timing Bill! I was planning to start a tread on this subject. [birds of a feather think together! ] did some searching on fri. on the PSM intake [which i like] & found the 'cool hose' as well. The 'cool hose' is on the way as i type! nice! i had been wondering how to improve the oem intake muffler, i already had gutted the muf. but was not satisfied with the 4'' to 5'' to 4'' step in the 'empty' tube. I also expect this to be much better insulated then the metal piping that some cold air intakes use. I'm still not 100% sure what i'll be doing about the filter/box. The S&B cold air filter that i have gets much better recommendations then the K&N when i asked around. Intakes are ''it seems to me'' one of the BIG3 in mods. for many people do on there trucks............ marketing works!, huh??!! PLEASE remove your silencer ring folks!, the turbo needs to be heard!!
