  1. You realy dont know what goes on down here where Im from in Florida then. They race anything especially diesels, from 3/4 and up, from mud drags to pulls. I think comparing Commercial trucks to everyday haulers and drivers is like comparing apples to oranges. I, as much of alot of us with duallies, swear by autos for hauling. I haul way over my DOT rating at times, and never have a problem. I do admit i have changed the torque convertor and a few other things in the tranny to better the performance. Again this is just my preference. I too use to love the standards, until i got sick of shifting and throwing more money into them, versus just going to a good auto. Again just my opinion!
  2. Just remember you can never out shift an automatic,..lol:rolleyes: unless your Big Daddy Don Garlet maybe!!
  3. Dang it man I thought i had bad luck all the time. Just my , to me its less exspensive to put a automatic in it and be done with it! I know alot of guys down here that are doing the conversion, because of all the problems they have with the manuals. Agian just my opinion! Any way wish you the best!!!
  4. Thanks guys for al the help!! Now i got to decided which of the airdogs to get this week Airdog1 or airdog 2, and which model 100, 150, or 156? Got any thoughts on it?? My upgrades are listed in my sig thanks to Mopar1973!!
  5. On my 01 Dodge I had an original lift pump , which I replaced with a Fass pump, this means there is no in-tank fuel pump, correct? The reason Im asking is some people are sayingIi have one, but it cant be with having a lift pump. Thanks guys!!
  6. What is the differenve in rv275 and 110 injectors. Is the 275 ones rated for 275 horse?? just curious??
  7. There is a fuel heater in the stock OEM filter housing? Hmmm didnt know that.. I appreciatte all the info guys!! Going to order them this week just trying to get all the info on them before I order them.
  8. Sooo, if im reading it correctlly it sounds like I can use the exsisiting fuel filter if I want, for added protection. How did you adapt the hose going into theOEM filter, and out? I would of thought that the new AirDog comes with good filters that protect against harmful materials or water.
  9. Why would you keep the stock filter? DOesnt the air dog come with 2 filters??
  10. I dont have the stock lift pump it was tossed years ago for a FASS95, but now its givin both my duallies fits! ---------- Post added at 01:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:30 PM ---------- Big lines, huh
  11. Mike hello I told you what I have on the truck....lol..its in the question!..lol..but i did fill out the sig, but it didnt post it yet. I do have an electric fuel pressure guage on both of the duallies and they both say the same thing. Mind you all the add ons are the same and were put on both trucks at the same time. Yes, I still have the factory fuel filter with a fuel filter before the FASS, both are new.
  12. Heres a question for ya, on one if my duallies @ WOT the fuel pressure guage reads between 5-7 .At idle its @ 15. I dont think it should go that low. I have a FASS 95 electric fuel pump on it with 110 injectors. Im thinking maybe the 110 injectors are sucking so much fuel the FASS cant keep up? Any thoughts?
  13. Thanxs ISX...........I have around 280k on it and do alot of towing with it. She still has alot of power, but I maintenance her well. In fact Im going back to the original turbo with a j-hook to get lower egts, changing a exhaust rocker arm#4 ( due to the plastic cap busted and they only sell it as a complete rocker arm only), and changing the intake manifold gasket this weekend!
  14. Mopar1973 what is a "TSB" ?.........I dont have oil coming out of the tube just alittle smoke. I did notice that i have a little gasket leak on the intake manifold. Im going to replace it this weekend. Could this cause it?? Again thanxs for any info!!!
  15. Ok heres the latest on one of our trucks...Now theres , what a peers to be, white smoke coming out of the drain tube that connects to the puke box in the front of the motor. What gives, and what does this mean???
  16. Does anybody know where i can get a fuel return line, other than Dodge or Cummins?? Also the "T", Fuel drain manifold? Also does anyone know if there is a check valve in the banjo fitting in the return line to the head?
  17. -----I didnt know if it has one??
  18. Mike its is a rubber hose with a coupler on the end that attaches to the metal line that goes to the tee from the tank. Does that help? ---------- Post added at 01:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:06 PM ---------- Should we have pressure in the fuel tank? I would think so, but on another forum they were saying I shouldnt? There answer was that whats happening is one of the injectors isnt sealing. On the end of the injector is a copper washer, this is what seals the injector nozzle to the cylinder head and seals compression. When one of these leaks it will allow cylinder pressure to escape into the fuel return channel in the head, the injector return fuel. This pressure makes its way through the return fuel system and then to the tank, sometimes bad enough to pour fuel down the left side of the truck when the engine is running. Is this true?? What do you all think?
  19. Ok here is anew question you guys may be able to help me with. My return line coming from the brass"T" is leaking right at where the rubber hose coupling meets the metal tube. Is it possible to completely do away with the coupler and just cut the hose and just ad a clamp to it, or does it need the fancy coupler??
  20. My rough idling in the mornings has to be one of the injectors leaking, Im guessing. :rolleyes:Soo, I would think it would be the copper gasket that is leaking. Or could it be the rubber o-ring around the injector?? Like I said, it smokes alittle and idles rough in the morning, then clears up.
  21. Im going to replace my 7mm nozzle gaskets ( 1.5mm) in my 01 Dodge Cummins, because i think one of them is leaking causing my rough idle at first intial start up. I have a question on the installation parts. Some people are telling me I should also replace 6 banjo connector gaskets ans 6 square cut o-rings. What are these two other ones? Do they mean the square cut o-rings are the connector o-rings? The banjo connectors I have no clue what they are, maybe one of you know what they are.
  22. No codes...The transmission shop said it just might be a broken 2 gear band and they could fix it for $200. Hopefully thats all thats wrong with it.
  23. How do I build a boost cap? Got any pics of anybody's??
  24. Heres the new dilema with the wifes truck. The darn transmission wont come out of first gear. I got first, reverse, park and neutral. Is there a electronic part in this thing that could make it not shift into second and third. She doesnt haul anything, Im trying to figure this one out. Would changing the fluid and filter help?? Any suggestions on the shifting problem would again be helpful!!!
