What else should I do?
I would like to remove this elbow at bottom of turbo to give me room to get the boot on. Is there a gasket in there I would need to replace if I did?

What else should I do?
Cool... because I thought about cutting them down but didn't want to booger them up

What else should I do?
The new boots are all a bit longer than the old... the upper went over both ribs and I have the clamp between the ribs. Is this a problem? This is why am checking my vacuum lines... but... what are other signs of a vacuum leak? Cruise control not working? Any others?

What else should I do?
I got the driver's side done today.. will do other side tomorrow. They went on fairly easily with the supplied lube. Touched up the pipe with paint too. I like em.. Can someone tell me what some of the signs would be for vacuum leaks? Going to inspect all the lines tomorrow...

What's it like to have a waste gate?
While a VGT may be ideal.. I think I'd rather go with something I won't have to retrofit too much. I don't have the kind of time it would require to install and program... Thanks for the info.

Eh... I read it twice.. not comfortable with it. :-(

What's it like to have a waste gate?
Makes sense.. Thanks for the info! I like the idea of the VGT because it has the exhaust brake incorporated. I'll look over ME78569 write up about it and probably come back with questions. I think OFF ROAD had one for sale on cf and I took a hard look at it... but was scared off because I think he modified his shock tower?? Another thing is I'm not really familiar with using lock up switch.. when to turn it on and off... Would something like a BD Autoloc switch work in conjunction with the exhaust brake component of the VGT? Would my S&B CAI work with it? I'll be back :-)

What else should I do?
Sorry if that was misleading.. I got them from a CF member who didn't use em...

What's it like to have a waste gate?
The budget is... the best perfomance for my application/needs without going twins. I'd rather have the cruising power up grade/hill.. than get up and go.

What's it like to have a waste gate?
Okay.. Would I need anything else for it to work? Will my current down pipe and flanges work with this? You said HE351 or similar.. What others should I keep my eye open for?

What's it like to have a waste gate?
Okay... just a quick google search HE351CW comes up for sale as refurbished units but are listed for 04-07 Dodge. Am I looking for the right turbo?

What else should I do?
Yes.. fluids are done. I would probably only do the rear diff. I just picked up some new Peak intercooler boots (not sure if 5 ply) for what I thought was a good buy ($100) I do believe I need some new vacuum line parts.. when I was doing the injectors I rubbed my hand against the junction hanging to the back right and had black dust on my hand. Thanks!

What's it like to have a waste gate?
I like where I'm at HP wise... I also like the way my current turbo acts and reacts.. except for the boost rising high/quickly.

What's it like to have a waste gate?
I think I've read about the VGT... doesn't it not sit quite right (level) or something? That would bug me...

What's it like to have a waste gate?
Whatever is going to be best for my application.. towing (#8000) as the priority. When I discussed turbos with Wade & Tyler.. 62/65/12 & 61/68/12 came up... but both were recommended with larger injectors. Would the 62/65/12 work well with my application?

What's it like to have a waste gate?
I was thinking of doing studs when I did injectors but it wasn't in the cards. So, it seams I should just not push this turbo too hard... which could be easily accomplished by not stomping on it and/or turning the box down. I think a new turbo is in my future which I've discussed with Tyler and Wade (cumminsdog)

What's it like to have a waste gate?
I haven't pushed it with these injectors.. Before I could hit 42psi and it could hit that mark crazy fast. I've noticed the boost comes even easier/quicker with these injectors.. but like I said.. haven't pushed it.. I'm scared lol

What's it like to have a waste gate?
Okay... that's why I ask a lot of questions... and trying to understand.. the comp box and fueling. I tried different settings today on the comp. Is the key indication of over fueling ... smoke?? If I turn the box down to where I get little to no smoke the right amount of fuel? <---- stepping on it kinda heavy?

What else should I do?
Hmmm.. i haven't really looked at the lines really closely. I'm guessing I would disconnect the 1/2" line going into the VP from the Fass and connect it to the original filter.. then... connect the kit you are recommending.. yes?

What's it like to have a waste gate?
Would it help alleviate turbo bark? Are non gated more geared towards racing applications then?
-
What's it like to have a waste gate?
My truck came with the non gated Aurora 2000... so I don't know the difference. I'm sure I will either want to get a new turbo at some point or need one. I always read about folks messing with a gated turbo... I guess to achieve higher boost? If or when the time comes... will I want and appreciate a gated turbo or will I be so accustomed to a non and want another?

What else should I do?
Not even the half of it... doesn't include cosmetic stuff... new bumper, grill, fogs, topper, bedslide, center console, step bars, etc, etc, etc.... oh yeah.. moon visor :-) Believe me.. I come up with reasons to go out and take a ride.. enjoying every minute of it <---- almost kinda sickening LOL I also enjoy making it mine, comfortable and love doing the upgrades. So... any advice/opinions on bypass or traction bars? What else for reliability? Okay... be ready to walk me through it.. please :-)
-
What else should I do?
I have been dumping good bit of $$$ to make this truck the best it can be. I recently got the front end in order.. removing leveling kit, poly bushings in upper and lower control arms, new track bar, steering box and brace.. added a deep trans pan and gauge.. new injectors.. brakes and lines all the way around including the Chevy 1 ton cylinders.x What can/should I do to my truck for performance & reliability.. besides routine/preventive maintenance? That's a given.. Most importantly for towing my camper anywhere I'd like to go (long distance.) Getting an exhaust brake is high on my priority list. Other things I'm thinking about are.. an oil bypass system, larger rear diff cover and traction bars.. but not sure these make sense? The previous owner disconnected the original fuel filter assembly on the side motor and i was thinking about removing until.. I think Mike mentioned that I should hook it back up for better filtration. Your thoughts and suggestions welcome!

FP Gauge
Okay... and I can assume my FASS is working correctly (becasue it starts easily) even though I don't hear it when I turn the key on... like I thought I used to? I definitely hear it during the 25 second cycle....

FP Gauge
Awesome.. thanks!
