  1. Okay.. but I just dont remember it dropping out of lock up like this before.. usually I would let off for a sec and it would pick up where it left off. So maybe there was something wrong before.. ill get a longer video shifting through all gears. Thanks
  2. I don't recall it doing this before... Are you saying this is normal?
  3. It feels like my truck is shifting funny.. seems a little inconsistent through all the gears at times. And.. while cruising at 55-60 if I let off the throttle for a second and reapply the throttle it downshifts to 3rd. here's a short clip
  4. It wasn't a problem before I cut the end off. Can still hold a conversation.. just have to speak a little louder :-)
  5. Hmm.. should have thought about this back then :-( oh well.. too late. Piece was trashed the next day. Thanks for the replies!
  6. Maybe but itll be x amount of inches short because I couldn't get it to separate.. so I cut it
  7. no lol.. wade didn't say a thing. It's just my preference. I was hoping another strategic hang would help.. but guess not I may have someone do some custom bends so little shows..
  8. I don't really think I need a whole new exhaust... do I?!?! It's in good shape... just missing the last 3 feet.. lol picture... I'm not sure if this is a muffler or resonator..
  9. What do you mean? Just have someone add the back section back on?
  10. I'm not really a fan of seeing a big tip on exhaust or seeing the exhaust pipe at all. So.. a few weeks ago I cut the last few feet of the exhaust for an axle dump. What I didn't realize was how much louder it would be and how much drone and vibration would come as a result. I had a hanger/support installed but its a couple/few feet up from the end. So over the axle.. there's no support. I don't mind it being a little louder but the drone and vibration is driving me nutz <--- no pun intended. Do you think another hanger near the end would help alleviate this.. or no?
  11. Would I just need to remove the clamp or will I need to separate the turbo from pipe?
  12. I suppose I could... would it be a good thing.. 3rd gen style?
  13. Can someone tell by picture if I already have a HX40 down pipe? I think it is.. but not sure
  14. The real question is.. do I need more power? No.. not really. I am just looking to improve tow-ability.. a little more umph while going down the road or climbing a grade. I only towed twice last year after I got the truck but felt it struggled a little going up grade but was told that maybe i had the box turned too low while cruising down the highway and didn't have the 50hp injectors I have now? Even though not a fan (too expensive?)... do you think the 3k could give me the little extra I could be looking for? I know this was a "what's it like to have a waste gate" thread and the 3k wouldn't have one either.. but I think I've grown accustomed to it and can keep it under control?!?!
  15. The 60/68/12 would need to be accompanied with the 125 sticks though.. right? How do you feel the super b would compare to the 2K? Would I notice a difference? I may have an opportunity to pick up an Aurora 3k. It has 100K miles on it. Do turbos have a useful life? How would it fit into this? Thanks for the info!
  16. I have read a lot about "lag" and not really sure what it's like. I don't think I have much lag with I have now and not sure what I would encounter with a change. I'm not looking to be quick off the line... as fun as that is or might be. I would rather not have lag (if there's going to be any) when I'm already cruising down the road.
  17. Ahh.. okay.. so when I'm hitting 30-42psi... the edge is telling it there's only 20.. so it'll keep giving.. correct? Back to turbo and injectors... why would the 125s and 60/68/12 be better for towing? I would have to turn the box down even lower to accommodate the larger injectors than I have now... or not so because of the larger turbo?
  18. I understand most of what you said... still trying understand boost and fooling. What I gathered is I don't really need a lot HP for towing. Torque is what you're after for towing.. correct? Doesn't torque come with HP? Okay... you have a stock turbo.. you add a box and wire tap that can produce 120hp. Will 125hp injectors coupled with a stock turbo produce similar results?
  19. I did contact Jacob with DAP and he said "a killer b would be hard to beat for my power level but"... "if I wanted to step up to 125 injectors a 60/68/12 would be a better choice" For some reason.. I am really having a hard time wrapping my head around the diesel world... understanding how everything correlates. Mostly because of how a box/chip/programmer such as the edge, smarty or a quadzilla interacts or effects things. Hopefully I can explain my ignorance properly... For example.. I understand that adding injectors and a larger turbo can increase your power.. right? But if you have a box and you add injectors and a turbo... you would need to turn the box down (especially while towing).. so what's the point the point of the box? I hope you understand what I'm saying... I'm trying to understand why the larger injectors and turbo would produce better results than the smaller injectors and smaller turbo? Is a box really necessary? Can you achieve the same results without it by going larger turbo and injectors... without a box? I have spent countless hours reading and watching videos but am just not getting it for some reason... I don't know why...
  20. Jokes on me I guess... didn't know the ac compressor would come on for heat... okay.. how about other effects?
  21. I don't know.. Something changes tone (like it's putting a load on it) when I flick from defrost to another setting. I'm just happy I found my vacuum leak!! How else can a vacuum leak affect things? Especially.. long term.. on things? Is it detrimental to have that excess air going into the crank case? Can it effect gas mileage? here's a sound clip of me flicking in and out of defrost..
  22. Yes.. and the tone of the engine changes as I flick back and forth from say defrost to feet. Oh.. misunderstood... I didn't check while driving. I found a leak and put a band aid on it for now.. I checked this last week and didn't notice it. Can I pick this stuff at NAPA? 4X4 comes on instantly and stays on! I believe I see a reduction in vapor.. or maybe I want to :-) THANK YOU
  23. I decided to check my 4 wheel drive today. It engages but the 4x4 light doesn't stay lit. If I accelerate in comes on and will turn off when I let off. Is this a sure indication of a vacuum problem? I checked the line down to the vacuum pup and it seems okay. The boot on the end leaves a fair amount of black residue on my fingers but seems solid.
  24. Lol.. okay.. Ima lookin at every cummins I can lay my eyes on and I can't find one normal like mine :-)
