  1. Here's the latest of my vent tube letting off steam... I think it is twice what it was since I purchased back in October. My cap does not dance around but I am seeing a little more steam out the cap area too. I get 2-3 drips of oil when parked? Should I be concerned? I ordered one of these to collect the drippings and to try to reduce the amount of smoke emerging from under my truck... Probably best viewed in full screen...
  2. Me too.. is that a mechanical gauge?
  3. I deleted it. Will do........
  4. Oh.. I only have a 10 amp charger...
  5. Okay.. all things being equal.. 1/2 line.. no stock filter... that leaves the spring.. right? I heard it can be stretched/adjusted.. changed?? I mean.. ultimately you want the highest pressure you can get/supply.. no?
  6. I watched your video on equalizing/charging a battery... I don't have an elaborate system like you... can I achieve the same thing with just a battery charger?
  7. Lol.. I agree. That's another reason. I can't stand a truck that is assss down when towing, Or a trailer that is nose up or down. Bugs the crap outa me........
  8. Glad you are happy with your new batteries! I had to look up lope to find out what it was. Apparently.. some find it desirable but not sure why?
  9. My truck came with a 2.5 or 3" leveling kit that I had removed and a new track bar installed. I'd rather not have the problems than a certain look...
  10. I have a question and will post it here rather than start anew... Why do fuel pressures vary? If two trucks are running Fass 150s.. why would one show 16ish and one 20ish? Is there an adjustment?
  11. Thank you for the info! Should be tackling it on Monday..
  12. Other than flickering between 2 digits.. mine doesn't fluctuate. Stays the same 16-17 at idle or acceleration. Dropped to 14-15 when it gets really cold out.
  13. By proper container.. will a bucket do? :-) The tone is definitely distinctive? The pump shuts off after 20-25 seconds... do I bump the starter again before that if I don't hear a change in tone?
  14. Monday I will be changing the oil for the second time since ownership. I know some send off oil samples.. where do you send it? Is there a sample kit to buy? I will be doing the Fass fuel filter and water separator for the first time. First question.. Are all the cross referenced filters on one of the pages I see here respectable replacements? Should I pour some fuel into the filter? Will it be difficult to start the truck? Not sure what to expect....
  15. Thanks again.. I'm planning on heading up your way in the early fall. Week long camping trip around NY. I've been wanting to see Thousand Islands for awhile now.
  16. Thanks! it's a work in progress. I haven't even cleaned it since I took ownership lol. I've just added a few things and had the valve cover and intake horn powder coated...
  17. Can't help.. but I had the proportioning valve deleted/bypass when the new rear brakes and GM cylinders were done a month ago. They are a little grabby but prefer that over next to nothing.
  18. Probably so... previously had one! Thanks
  19. I found a couple of videos as well.. Didn't seem like oil but looked like it. It was stuck to the wall and felt a little tacky. Thanks
  20. Almost forgot... I saw this residue in one of my old boots.. the bottom passenger side that connects to the intercooler. It was a little tacky.. didn't really come off when I ran my finger across it.
  21. LOL... so 4 hours for a novice such as myself! :-) Thank you..
  22. I'll check the color... About how long should it take a novice to do the rebuild? Oh.. and can I pick up a rebuild at Napa?
  23. I had the Redhead put in a month ago.... Would the power steering have been flushed when the new steering box was put in?
  24. Well.. I got em on there. It was quite a fight.. didn't help that I didn't pay attention to which direction the pipe went before I removed it.. :-( Did a boost leak test.. tightened up a couple of clamps and intake horn bolts and good to go. Anyway... I inspected some of the vacuum lines and connections. Didn't find any cracked lines but some of the rubber boots/connectors are pretty dry and brittle. My power steering/vacuum pump seems to be leaking between the two.. pretty wet down there and when turning hard one way or the other it groans a little. I guess that'll be next on the to do list. Not looking forward to that. I was hoping to find a vacuum leak somewhere.. my breather hose is blowing smoke like a freight train. I get some smoke out of the oil filler too but the cap doesn't dance around...
  25. okay.. thanks. I'll replace the nut :-)
