Ball joints
I've been having great luck with my 315/75R16 Goodyear Duratracs. With close to 30k miles they still look new.

On to the next problem, a leaking head gasket.
PB Blaster for the stuff I'm not going to heat and 50/50 acetone/ATF for the things I will. Sounds good guys, thanks.

What is yall's favorite penetrating oil to use on rusty bolts like on the manifold and turbo?

What's the deal with 12v prices?
I bought my 96' with the intention of keeping it forever so I don't mind putting some money into it, within reason of course lol. I'm sure I hurt it's value by bedlining the body but I don't care. I spent a couple hundred bucks doing it myself when a cheap paint job would have been over a grand and then your dealing with all the chips and scratches that always come when you use a truck like a truck.

Man sneaks into Fukushima's Red Exclusion Zone and takes photos
I've never been one to subscribed to conspiracy theories but a lot of what I've heard over the last few years is coming to pass. I've heard people say that there will be another civil war but I never paid much attention to those "nut jobs". Well, they were close as there is a war brewing, a "race" war. It seems crazy to think that myself or my loved ones could be a target simply because we're white. The fact is that's the current state of this country, it's not widespread yet but it is growing everyday. Some people (white) actually seem to look forward to a race war and view it as a chance to cleanse this country , idiots. I sincerely pray that it doesn't come to that. I will however do whatever I must to protect the ones I love from those who wish to bring them harm. As my sig line states " You do not fight out of hate, but rather out of the love and compassion you have for those you are trying to protect"

Between that, the clan with a tan (BLM), FBHO running his mouth about the fallen officers, the guy who got tased then stabbed himself in the neck, ect, I'm ready to get off this merry-go-round of insanity.

What's the deal with 12v prices?
I'm not one to spend money just for the hell of it (wish I had that option though lol) and tend to research the ever loving crap out of something before I buy it. With that said I would spend the money on the Bilsteins again in a heartbeat. I picked mine up for $160 delivered (front pair) but can't remember from where

What's the deal with 12v prices?
@TFaoro I only have Bilsteins in the front but I absolutely love them! I haven't figured out what to run on the rear yet as I've heard numerous complaints of the Bilsteins riding like a tank on the rear unless your loaded down.

What's the deal with 12v prices?
I paid $8k for my 96' and that was probably 2k or 3k too much. After I'm finally done with everything I'll have around $16k in it including the purchase price. That total includes: *Built trans with billet triple disk converter *New 99-02 HD steering *Ball joints *DOR track bar *Bilstine shocks *Rebuilding the steering box *New injectors *New head gasket, HD head bolts, 60lb springs *4k GSK *Autometer gauges *New turbo *New dash *New headlights I could hit $18k if I got it painted but I prefer it being bedlined.

I've noticed for a while now that 12v prices have gotten ridiculous but my question is why? Full retard http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/5651186367.html

"When i enter the red zone, i can feel a burning sensation in my eyes and thick chemical smell in the air." This should have been a sign to gtfo of that place asap.

On to the next problem, a leaking head gasket.
Went ahead and ordered everything so now it's just going to be finding the time to pull the head.

On to the next problem, a leaking head gasket.
Got the new bolts on the way (thanks Cowboy!) and will be ordering everything else tonight. I'm also going to order new Autometer Z series gauges to replace the broken Glowshift garbage after I have my head tested. No since in spending money on gauges if I end up needing a head. Hopefully it will be fine and things will go smoothly.

http://imgur.com/gallery/KabxJ Never seen before photo of the fukushima exclusion zone. When i enter the red zone, i can feel a burning sensation in my eyes and thick chemical smell in the air. before i went there the authority told me that i need a special permit to visit this town and it take 3-4 weeks to get the approval from the local council,, well too much bureaucracy bullshit for me..so i just sneak in the forest to avoid cops on the road ...AND IT WAS AMAZING !!!!!, I still remember what is like to only have a GPS and google map walking in the wood at 2am in the morning to get into the town of okuma, futaba and namie. Have you ever wonder what is like in fukushima exclusion zone now ??? . to feel what is like to be the only person walking in the town when you have 100% full access to every shop and explore??. when i was young i always had a dream like this, If i'm alone in a supermarket i will eat all the chocolate up XD .... everything is exactly where it is after the earthquake struck this town . the reident started to evacuate the town when tsunami warning came in ....hours later the fukushima daichi power plant exploded that lead to harmful radiation leaked. The radiation level is still very high in the red zone. not many people seen this town for the last 5 years...is like it vanished ... i can find food, money, gold, laptop and other valuable in the red zone....I'm amaze that nobody looted this town clean. unlike chernobyl the entire town is been looted clean. this is the difference between chernobyl disaster and the fukushima disaster. More images can be found in the link above. That guy has some balls, until they fall off from radiation poisoning

Knocking sound.
Does my truck sound like it's idling normal in those videos? Something I forgot to mention is that my truck will not start unless you give it a little throttle. If you give it about 1/4 throttle it pops right off. I've tried priming it to see if I was losing pressure but it doesn't help. My idle is about 750 in drive with A/C on.
-
Knocking sound.
@Dieselfuture I've done that in the past with good results. @Cowboy Actually adjusted them today. I used a piece of water hose to listen to each valve cover and heard #3 ticking pretty loud compared to the others. Adjusted everything with no notable difference. @JAG1 I haven't used a broom handle before but my dad showed me how to use a piece of water hose (or any hose) to listen for things like that. It's good to hear that she's still running strong. It knocks intermittently and is definitely fuel related as it will always stop when I let off the throttle. I wonder if bumping the timing to 16.5° has anything to do with it? The truck doesn't lack of power since replacing the injectors, in fact it flat out hauls a$$ now. Half throttle from a dead stop will smoke my 315/75R16 Goodyear Duratracs lol. I've never found ANY metal of any kind when changing the oil. Dumping the oil filter has never produced any debris, though I've never cut one open to inspect the media. I was always a couple quarts low on oil between changes but that has stopped since replacing the front crank seal, timing cover gasket, and tapped cover gasket. I've never ran it hot or got my EGT's above 1100 and I've never ran it low on oil. Here's a couple videos to listen to.
-
Knocking sound.
Now it stopped I'm not burning oil, don't have much blowby, don't have water in my oil or oil in my water, starts easy, pulls hard until it starts defueling, runs smooth with no hiccups what so ever, so wtf am I worrying about? I must be wound too tight, maybe I need a couple stiff drinks to take the edge off lol.
-
Knocking sound.
Well the knocking sound is back If I had the money I'd pull the engine and hone the cylinders, re-ring it, and replace all the bearings for piece of mind.

On to the next problem, a leaking head gasket.
Awesome, thanks! Fel-Pro head gasket, Fel-Pro engine gasket kit, DAP 4k GSK, Cummins 60lb valve springs and new head bolts $372.82. Pressure testing and resurfacing the head $248.97 (tax included). So I'm looking at $621.79 to get this sucker finished up, not including antifreeze and an oil change. This is ASSumming that the valves, guides, and head itself are still good After this the only thing left to upgrade is the turbo. I hope my turbo doesn't read this and decide to call it quits

On to the next problem, a leaking head gasket.
How do I know which gasket is the improved design when ordering? I'm not sure if I am or not. Is it even worth messing with for my 450hp goal?
-
On to the next problem, a leaking head gasket.
I'm going to check all of that once it's off.
-
On to the next problem, a leaking head gasket.
Just found another place that is closer and will pressure test and resurface for $230.

On to the next problem, a leaking head gasket.
I'm seeing anywhere from $60 - $110 to resurface a head from different machine shops online. They can stick their $325 resurfacing where the sun don't shine. Found another shop that will do it for $150 but requires a cleaning and magnaflux for $75, so $225 total. It would probably be a good idea to magnaflux it anyway. I'm going to keep checking around.
