  1. Welp. Guess I'm heading to the parts store after work and calling genos on Monday. Thank you again @Mopar1973Man
  2. Went to change the oil sensor, ordered the switch from genos after confirming I had the right part number. Went to install today and behold, my truck fights to be different yet again. So now the question is, does anyone know what year sensor this is? I believe the truck is late 02 before the change to 3rd gen trucks, but I haven't been to the parts store yet to look at a sensor they have on the shelf. Part number for the 98.5-02 trucks is 4326849 and a complete different plug. Also, sorry about all the oil need to change the cover gasket on that side.
  3. I recently bought 26 stock headbolts, Cummins was the cheapest place to go for bolts. As for rebuilt kit, I'd assume cummins also but could be wrong. Been known to be.
  4. If you can, go to the parts store and get a small fuse holder with a wire coming off it. It'll plug right in to the fuse panel in the drivers side of the dash. There's a spare fuse, I wanna say 16?, that's powered when key on. I did tap the headlight switch wiring for gauge lights though.
  5. Coolant is clean just did a flush when the new head gasket was installed, radiator is newer and clean, water pump is brand new with thermostat and the fan clutch is always locked due to a personal mod. (Because the fan clutch failed) If I run the truck unloaded Its fine. the only time it gets hot is when the gooseneck is overloaded.
  6. It most likely is, but my only rebutle will be that I don't like to slow down when towing uphill. When I do slow down, I don't need it. so it's rare that I do use it, but sometimes I'd rather just turn on heat than downshift.
  7. When I first purchased my truck I didn't have any gauges at all, am I confident I overheated the turbo, yes I am no doubt. But, now that I have gauges I know i can put any weight I want behind and as long as I stay in 5th and wrap it up, even to 2500rpm, it'll stay cool for the most part. Even though I usually run 60 at 2200 rpm if I remember from back then. Now doing this for steep grades for long periods of time, it'll warm up. just ease off the throttle little by little till you gotta downshift. And just be ready to turn on defrost heat on full when she gets warm for those stupid long grades.
  8. I have a harbor freight 3 ton steel and a 3 ton aluminum racing jack. Bought them both together 3 yrs ago, they are starting to show signs of age and the many things you shouldn't do with you jack. But still hold up ok. Don't trust them to hold something up all night long anymore though. I think I'm going to give a napa jack or the red jack from tsc a try next. Or just be like my father a buck up for a nice snap on jack, he bought 3 of 3tons 20 odd years ago and they're still working great.
  9. Well incase anyone ever searches the issue here again, it's on page 158 of the grey goat build thread, it's a good read if your interested. heres the cheaters way to to see it quickly.
  10. as long as I've owned this truck the driver side seat heater has never worked. with some basic trouble shooting I've looked at the connections, looked at the switch, checked fuses. All I get it the switch light will blink on the HI side of the selector. With the switch light blinking that leads me to thinking the heating pads in the seat itself are bad, but I could be wrong. Has as anyone else had this problem?
  11. well i believe after enough searching i found a kit thatll bolt right up with the bed hitch without causing me any issues. if it does i believe theyll be minor compared to the others. bolts to the inside of the axle such as @Dieselfuture mount does. https://www.etrailer.com/Vehicle-Suspension/Dodge/Ram+Pickup/2001/F2220.html?vehicleid=20011009447
  12. I've been thinking of doing mine the same way, it shouldn't interfere with the turnover ball stuff if I use some 1/4" angle going from the frame to the bag.
  13. Yes the turn over ball is also part of the issue, I love it but boy does it interfere with airbag mounting. Im doubtful the 3500 trucks are different from 2500, they both have overloads and leafs mount in the same location so if it comes down to it and I have to finnesse then into place then so be it, just another reason for me to practice my welding skills lol
  14. yss correct, don't know why I said bed. But it's good to know you had room with that brand. Firestone is what I'm finding to be the one that needs less room to install anyways online.
  15. For the nv5600 guys, for awhile Cody at super stick transmissions apparently has been running 50w without problems in multiple transmissions. Might try it myself on the next change. doesn't have a webpsge, but you can look them up on facebook.
  16. Looking to help with the heavy loads but I find online with most kits They say I need 8" between the frame and the inner dual tire. Does anyone have a kit that perhaps mounts different that'll bolt up or tell me I don't need that much space, currently only have 6" On the truck.
  17. Awesome I'll to test it tomorrow after work! and figured on buying new stuff, cheaper than what I expected honestly. So both parts will be getting replaced regardless, and likely hold on to the good parts for in a pinch type moments.
  18. I know it's not cold enough yet but, to lessen my idle time by the house this winter (baby) so I plugged in heater to make sure it worked and everything was normal. I plugged in the cord for the first time in 2 yrs and the plug ark welded itself to the power cord, and where the plug goes into the heater element started to smoke an make gurgling noises. Is is there a way to test the cord or the element to figure which part is faulty? As far as I know the element and cord are factory.
  19. They did! They're great and can't wait to drive the truck more.
  20. Needed new injectors recently so I went with a good company, they didn't disappoint. Ordered 75hp 7x.0085 vco like I've been wanting and after I got the new ones in they are great, even though the test drive was short. Got home to fill out the core return and realized I was upgraded! just wanted to say thanks @dieselautopower for the parts, I'll be happy to keep doing business with y'all.
  21. I've always had decent luck buying them in bags off eBay, I think I paid $5 for a bag of 75 a few months ago.
  22. True, but I don't care enough to find out. I'm sure they'll be fine, they came in the high class box anyways!
