Another Idea
Okay! as I was taking my nap today ( Yeah you will get to that point one day ) I was thinking about my post on the fender repair. One of the main things is because the fender is made of such cheap plastic -- I know most things seem to be that way now --- there is something that could be used to give more strength to the inside of a break.GOOP! Yup GOOP. If you haven't heard of it go buy a tube and make some expeirement with it.Example! A freind has a new nissan cube and he wanted to stick a GPS unit to his dash because the item that came with it would not stick to the plastic on his dash.So I mentioned GOOP and we got some. Man that stuff sticks to anything. I use it to asemble my beer can airplanes I make.So I was thinking! by using some metal flashing from a local hardware store, and cutting it to fit, and puttting some GOOP it would be stronger then the original plastic after the GOOP cure. Now you don't have to go buy the brand name because they sell it at wallyworld for around $2.95 a tube in the section for pencils and etc. They name it contact cement in a tube.Oh yeah this stuff has a stretch factor of about 800% , I know I had to pull the GPS unit off of his cube dash. No damage to the dash either it fianlly did come off but almost pulled my arm out of the socket doing it.Any want this is just a thought, Just to bad I didn't know about the stuff when I did my fender!

Fender Repair
Only one problem! the fenders are made of plastic! Not fiberglass!I worked for douglass aircraft in the 60's and was certified as a fiberglass aircraft repair person.I have repaired lots of aircraft parts made of fiberglass up to and including filament wound parts. These fenders are a whole differnt ball game, they are real cheap mold injection parts. No offense intended

Fender Repair
Just make sure you have patience when grinding out the crack. I have a old dremel, and it still works good. I actually have a chuck on the end of mine that tightens up like a drill chuck so it hold different sizes of shafts. I have some dental grinding burrs that the local dentist didn't want because they were dull. Hey dull grinder bits in a dental office work super great on plastic. Get the heavy duty aluminum foil at your hardware store its cheap like about $6 a roll and goes a long ways You can put a couple layers on the inside if you feel inscure about it holding the fender. Like I said Mine was clean on the inside of the fender so not much was done as far as cleaning. The tape stuck very good all i did was peel the plastic off to expose the sticky part of the tape, and then I ground out the crack big enough to hold the plastic filler. I don't think the crack was any bigger then about a quarter of an inch in the widest place. You can tell when your almost through as you grin the crack will open and expose the broken ends on the inside of the crack. Fill it up with the mix alowing it to be above the crack so you have enough to sand down almost smooth. Good luck! if I can share any other of my experiences just ask

firewood splitting...
The wife and I gave up city life 6 years ago when we moved out of California!Never! again! There is nothing worse then city life. I had to work 26 years in the same job, go to the hospital and almost die, and now have health problems! Now give me one good reason to live in the city!High taxes! Noise! crime! Crappy neighbors! and the list goes on and on.I love country, just can't afford a place as beautiful as where you are.Well at least in Oklahoma we get to carry our guns and no one bothers us.I am CCW and Proud of It!

firewood splitting...
I love the pictures of your place, it is more then beautiful. I do envy that. When I was a kid we used lots of firewood. We had Orange wood, and no hydraulic splitter. We used wedges, and sledge hammers. If you have never used Orange wood then you can't imagine how long it burns, and how much heat it makesWe only had a electric stove in our old place, and a water heater.Splitting Dried Orange wood in the summer is hard to belive but the wood sparks when you try to split it. Hard Hard Super Hard wood
