  1. Thank you for the reply. Now dealing with a P0237 code and it would be great if the Quad actually worked to monitor & assist in diagnosis. I have yet to run through the voltage checklist & don't want to get off topic. Should I contact Quad? Can I expect assistance from them?
  2. I do not believe so. I think the ECM gets ground from a wire but I will have to check wiring diagrams to confirm. If you jiggled some wires and it temporarily solved the issue; I would have someone sit in the cab while running and do the same to see if there are any effects.
  3. I am not well versed in electronics but I am an ME. Is this something you can fix with the heat gun trick or contact Quad to make it right? UPDATE: Plugged a warm BT module into the truck this morning & connected immediately. Within 2 minutes of 27 deg F weather it disconnected & did not register as available.
  4. Injector timing is obviously directly related to your CPS and CKP. You should add more info in your sig but I assume this is an auto trans? I would first check continuity on your grounds & follow with a connector cleaning (NOT BRAKE CLEAN) & dielectric. If you fiddled with the wires and it helped....I would guess you located the vicinity of the problem.
  5. UPDATE: I am almost certain cold temperature is affecting my connection: The weather has been at or below 32 deg. F for the past week and zero connectivity. Today, I took the truck out to pick up some lunch with temperatures in the mid 40s and boom....connected right up. How does one explain that? I truly believe my issue is with temperatures since I ONLY have issues in the cold. Tonight I will unplug the BT module and keep it toasty inside until tomorrow's commute & report back.
  6. Thank you guys for chiming in. Since the cold snap my quad has not been connecting/loading anyway so I presume it reverts to stock quad tune if no bt connectivity (could very well be mistaken). I also found I had massive vacuum leaks so working on that currently. Next is to perform the W-T & PCM wiring mods and move to installing my EMF ball joints. My surging problem is intermittent but I will report back for the record. Thanks again.
  7. That fuel leak is likely the return line at the back of the head. There is a banjo fitting to a known issue-having connection. I cut it off and replaced with bit of hose & clamps and you will be on your way. Common issue. That hose looks like the vacuum supply hose from the vaccum pump to firewall. Check & see if the vacuum pump has any rigid 1/4" hose (or any hose) connected to it.
  8. I realize this thread is 6 years old but my truck began surging last week & only significant change is I removed Edge w/ Smarty & replaced with Quadzilla last month. Did you end up fixing the issue with the alternator rebuild? Thanks.
  9. The one thing that swayed me in that direction is that you stated after 20 min of driving it has better luck connecting. Not sure if this is the current state but figured I would share my experience. How do we check the IQuad over-crimp issue? Was it the the harness side or the adapter side? Has anyone investigated creating a wired connection? The adapter must be taking the raw data and transferring via BT. We (Quadzilla) just need to Rosetta stone the data coming from the Adrenaline adapter plug and find a way to get it to the app via lighting plug (apple) or micro usb. Likely easier said than done.
  10. Just an FYI: Dedicated Samsung Galaxy S3 in airplane mode with most recent app - connected 90% of the time when I first installed the device on stock tune. I created custom tune two weeks ago & connection was similar for a few days. NJ weather got colder the past week and I haven't got it to connect for 7 days straight. Sometimes when I click on "connect to adrenaline" the choose bluetooth prompt displays and only shows IQUAD. I click on IQUAD but cannot connect. My commute is about 30 min in the morning & evening with 0% connection for the past 7 days. Very frustrating. Possibly a temperature issue? I have researched if the Bluetooth crystal oscillator is not rated for freezing or is lower quality, the clock accuracy is affected. I am unsure this is the case but it has to be hardware or software related (duh). I do not know enough about the software to assist in diagnosis. I am going to try an S4 and Samsung tablet tonight & maybe even attempt to connect while under the hood.
  11. I figured this would be a good thread to piggyback and for future searchers to find all info in one place: Just wanted to share my experience dealing with Johnny over at PolyBushings and the result of my mount purchase. First off; Geno's and PolyBushings products are the same. The owner, Johnny, is a great person and really builds a stellar product. I purchased the engine mounts & trans mount from him and I am impressed with the result. I did not get the engine mounts in yet but the trans mount made a significant difference in overall driving experience. I am REALLY impressed. My transmission mount has likely been shot for a while but this is exactly what I needed. No added drive-line vibrations with the trans mount. I currently have poly inserts (with rotten rubber) in my engine mounts and will report back once replaced. Just wanted to share my findings since it was such a great overall experience. I have no affiliation with any vendors and paid full price for the mounts.
  12. Gotcha. So the snubber can stay where it is but add some distance between snubber and sensor. Am I understanding correctly? While I have the attention of the guru: Is there any benefit to have my lift pump on a switch? The PO had it this way bit I would very much like to upgrade to the delay relay mod. Any recommendation is greatly appreciated.
  13. uh huh...Thank you for the advice. I do have a snubber but the fitting is on the fuel line within 8 inches of the VP44. Is this an issue? Is this the water hammer issue in your video?
  14. Thank you for the reply. I am going to waste my money on the Autex unit on amazon and see how long she lasts. Likely throwing my money away but we shall see. Thanks again!
  15. Old thread but I am also interested in a replacement sensor. Over $100 for a chinese 5v sensor is ridiculous. I would rather use something like this: https://www.automationdirect.com/adc/overview/catalog/process_control_-a-_measurement/pressure_sensors/pressure_transmitters/stainless_steel_sensing_element_-_integral_cable Mine reads 33psi all the time. Thank you.
