Cold start servo/motor sounds??
Hello all, Had 98.5 for years but was stolen back in February. I’m now a very lucky owner of a new 2018 2500! Absolutely amazing in all aspects!! Question: when cold starting, (not really cold!) about 7°C, when the grid(s) cycle on and off there is a servo/motor type noise that sounds under the hood with the grids. On and off. There is a little ‘beep’ that is heard as well. Any ideas? Certainly doesn’t sound like it’s a malfunction as it matches the grid dash lights (on and off) exactly. Thanks all!! Ken

Boost fooled and my Diablo Power Puck??
Thanks Buzzin. I won't worry about getting another fooler. If it doesn't put my truck into limp mode then I have no problem with clearing a code every now and then... thanks again.

Boost fooled and my Diablo Power Puck??
Hay all. I've had a Diablo PP, boost elbow and boost fooler for quite some time. Recently the fooler died so I removed it. I still can get boost over 27, yet I don't throw a code? What am I missing? I thought I'd get a code after 22? Or will I have to maintain 22+ for a certain amount of time ?? Thoughts? Thank you.

Torque Converter Lock / Unlock Issues
Hello Guys,Yesterday on the way to work it was hunting in and out of 4th etc. On the way home all is well. This morning, hunting in and out of 4 so I kicked it out of OD and its hunting in and out 3 and lock or second, who knows. I brought my multimeter this am and tested my AC while it was running before I shut it of. It was at .05. When I tested it yesterday it was at .02 to .04. My Scangauge picked up a 1682 code. (My first one ever)I'm not sure from yesterday or this am. I'm thinking my alternator is just done. Thoughts??

IAT too high?
After sitting/stop and go I got moving again. I think the IAT dropped to 157. Too high?I may have dropped more if I drove further but I'm not 100% on that one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

IAT too high?
Do ya-all think there is an upper limit for our intake air temperature? Why I ask is since putting on the BHAF I have seen temps in the high 160 sitting in traffic with the A/C on. Just thinking..……Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Boost fooler?
Ok, now I'm a bit confused. I have an auto and a boost fooler. I made a boost elbow and put it in place of the existing elbow. I turned my set screw almost all the way in and now I can hit 25psi. I was only able to hit 17 without the elbow. I was under the impression that the boost elbow is all I/we needed. It reduces pressure thus preventing the waste gate from opening or opening early. So I'm not sure what the J hook is used for? How is the standard different from the auto turbo? I thought we all had that turbo pressure line going to the waste gate?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thinking about Jake brakes.
...just so I understand the exhaust brake working with my auto...The exhaust brake WILL work well if the torque converter locks up (in my case, 3rd and 4th only) but will do little to nothing in 1st or 2nd as my stock trany never goes into lockup in those gears!?Correct ??Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thinking about Jake brakes.
Ah, thanks. I wasn't sure if the 3 cyl was just a fuel thing with the VP or a bit more than that. I can see if you just cut the fuel it wouldn't do much on deceleration. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thinking about Jake brakes.
So I was just thinking about exhaust brakes and real Jake brakes for our 5.9. It's a shame no one makes a real Jake for our trucks. The exhaust brake is a great option but a bit of an issue with us owners with autos. So I was just thinking about the 3 cylinder idle. What if a person could engage the 3 cylinder after releasing the accelerator peddle? Would it be a hybrid Jake/Exhaust brake? Would it work? Would it brake or bend things?Thoughts?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Exhaust Temps
About the same for me. 800ish on the flat and 1100is up a 12% grade with the 5er and the A/C going. My GVWR is 15750, just shy of my max. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I ran the #6 coolant port to the heater line
I can't remember where I read it or saw it, but someone removed the heater core nipple off the top of the head and found the diameter was way less than the nipple itself. I think they drilled it out to increase flow and improve heater core function. If that works than flow across the head would improve?Just thinking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

oil analysis
Yes, I agree, a history is the key.I called the lab today and got the owner on the phone. We discussed all of the readings. I can't recall specifics of everything, but i got clarification on a few things. The iron (Fe) is 7 that's ok but I can't remember what the high limit is. The Zn, P and Ca are all additives. If there high that's a good thing.,The insolubles is soot. The high end is 7 so at 0.4 I'm still way low. The Si, fuel% and antifreeze% are the critical ones the owner said. If there low or zero like mine are then your good. So his final words were to wait another 6000km from now and do another sample. Cool thing is, he said bring your truck right to the lab and they will pull the sample and show me how they do it and get my results in an hour. It'll be cool to see it all done. Thanks again. oil analysis
Hello all. I have just had an oil analysis done. I was hoping one of you-all could have a look and explain it to me. What all the numbers mean? What are the high and low limits of them? Thanks again. The mileage is in KM eh!!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Turbo Compressor Outlet temperature
I was towing the 5er this weekend and brought my temp gun with me. After a 2 hour drive I stopped and let the EGT cool to 300 (my thermocouple is in the '5 hole' of the exhaust manafold, the usual spot). I temped the:Exhaust manafold - 425Turbo housing intake - 180Turbo housing exhaust - 430Valve cover - 185Exhaust elbow behind turbo - 465Those are from memory, I'll check again and write them down. Just a FYIThanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

HX35 Max Boost?
I was out camping and watched the boost gauge. Towing almost 8K up a hill i still couldn't get over 26ish lbs. I must have hit the fueling limit for the power puck and the stock injectors. Cheers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is the link between the pitman arm adjustable so a 1-2" lift can be done and readjust for center?I like the idea of grease zirks. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

HX35 Max Boost?
Yes. I have read over 35 etc. Thanks everyone for the input. ...Moparman, I just watched your video. It looks like you can jump yours up and over 30 or 32 psi. Two questions: how is your turbo modified and what RPM are you at when you hit 30psi. Thanks again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
