That's what I was thinking. It should be a trailer wiring issue not my truck. It should be a ground wire in the incorrect position. Right?

Sorry I should of been a bit more descriptive and clear. It smoked the ground wire on the trailer and the trailer brakes no longer work. Also when this happens my third brake light lit up and stayed on until I unplugged the trailer. When I test the plug on the truck using a test light all poles light up when they are supposed to. Constant hot, turn signals, so on. I use a smaller trailer that uses the 4 way plug that works just fine.

A few months ago I hooked up to a trailer and smoked a few wires and the brakes dont work anymore on it. I been trying to figure out what was wrong with my truck. However using a test like everything is hooked up as it should be. Anyone have any suggestions??

It seems to be wired up right from a test light but something is wrong somewhere. It could be aftermarket but it looks really close to a factory look.

2002 2500 with I think factory tow package has both 4 pole and 7 hooks up. The 4 way works like it should. Turn signals and brakes. The 7 way only had turn signals and brake light brake box wouldn't come on either. Checked the 40 amp fuse under the hood for the trailer and it was bad swapped it out. Brake box worked and had running lights. Then the ground wire on the trailer was smoking and my third brake like was stuck on till we unhooked trailer. What is wired wrong on this truck? It ain't the trailer. I think something was odd about dodge wiring but I cant recall what. Any help is appreciated.

It was 32 with strong winds this mornin unknown wind chill. Is it safe to drive or do I need to stop and get new injectors asap

187,000 stock injectors as far as I know. So I take it the blue haze ain't normal for cold start then?

Terrible pic but where the muffler ends it's rusted off and then u see the smoke. Like this till the grid heater stopped cycling. Normal?

Just regular 2 stroke oil like for a dirt bike in the fuel? I haven't heard of that before but I will look into that? Do u run it with every tank? I picked up some howes diesel treat. I just went and checked my oil and antifreeze again and it's all normal so I thought I would start it up and see what it did now that's it's bout 54 degrees. And guess what no smoke at all. Beats the heck out of me. I am new to the diesel truck world guess I am just scared of breaking something lol.

It is a daily but will be used to towing as well com hay season. It was used for towing before but not sure to what extent. I bought some diesel addtivite today to add to the fuel to help any sticking injectors and maybe I shouldn't just baby it all the time. I think I'll get me at least a temporary fuel gauge. I checked the oil and antifreeze and all is normal there.

That's a good idea with the fuel pressure gauge. I need to just bite the bullet on it.

I got a auto. My plan was to get something like the edge cts 2 or quadzliia iquad. So I can keep up with everything. I live in mount airy nc I don't think anyone around here can test them.

Do u have that mounted in ur truck or just for a test? Is their any other way I can test them out with out sending them off to be tested? Really not wanting to be spending money if mine are ok for now. Just odd how it only does it on start up. Thanks for all your help

If u don't mind My asking about how much did u pay for yours? And is that anyway I could test mine to see if they are in good working condition? I was trying to save up for some gauges.

As far as I know they are it's a new to me truck. Only had it about a month.
