Yep the guy told me it was a wreck,so in 96 the tranny shaft wasn’t very big maybe I’m better to find something newer & less K I’m in no rush my 47re as been rebuilt with a triple disc 10K ago just want to do the switch for kicks

The scrap yard guy told me he as a 96 dually he’ll strip it down so I’ll get the tranny,transfer case,drive shafts,cross members,clutch & pedals,stick shift for $3500. that’s Canadian his truck as 512K that sounds ok of a deal?

Is the 4500 5 speed a good pick for the switch ?

I’ll replace the exhaust manifold it as a few airline cracks but no leaks,checked online they have the high flow is it worth it what’s a good make?

Yep running on the Smarty,the Tranny fresh rebuilt triple disc pulling the fifth wheel runs cool no problem should be good to handle the boat.One thing hopefully the ddrp02 will keep up to the injectors and turbo I ran 1/2” lines from bottom of tank to the ddrp02 if it doesn’t keep up I’ll switch the ddrp02 for something higher flow we’ll see.

I’m not looking for too many HP I’m towing a 30’ fifth wheel which the truck can handle but I want to pull my 18’ Lund boat behind the fifth wheel which weighs 3000 lbs so I need xtra hp

I have a boost gauge with my HY I get 20 psi max.to get 32 psi I probably need the J hook .I can get a deal $580. Canadian for 6 injectors the make diesel USA??Any good?

I have the ddrp02 it's like 80 gph maintains 16 psi wot,the hx will it need mods for the exhaust and for the higher turbo pressure all I need is studs?

Why did you switch to 3.55?Do you have to do some shimming when doing the switch or just switch gears?

At 1600 rpm I’m cruising 55 mph I climb the hills no problem when I cancel od it will rev roughly 2200 if I floor it it will gain speed but egt’s climbs to 1200 just keeping an eye on egt’s,I’m at setting 5 on my Smarty where should I be set + timing or not?? Marcus are in Canada?

I picked up new tires 31” my truck pulls the fifth wheel no problem I can coast on the highway at 1600 rpm in overdrive I just press the switch when climbing long steep hills I still go up to 1200 egt’s when pushing the truck to maintain my speed that should be ok??

So on the weekend I installed my 33" winter tires on the truck and pulled my buddy's fifthwheel 12000 lbs no problem outside temp 28 the egt's went to 1200 pulling on our longest steepest hill in our area,the pics are cruising on a flat everything looks good I'll probably keep my 3.55 and step down from my 35" tires to 33".

What setting are you on the Smarty?Is your Tranny a 4 speed my truck if I push the button on the end of the stick which takes OD off I’m pretty sure I’m in 4th gear
