removing fuel sending unit
Working out of town so no pics for now, truck is a 2001,what I want to do is keep the existing system with the ddrp on the engine for back up and then install a fass150 closer to the tank if budget permits if not leave all steel lines up to the engine and move the ddrp closer to the tank and install a prefilter with 1/2" lines .Cutting the filter at bottom sounds good.

removing fuel sending unit
Mine is completely different,I would like to keep the existing piping,I'll have to check to see if they sell a drawstraw for my unit,I noticed the strainer on your set up does it come in the kit,my unit is a screen at the bottom, only way for the fuel to enter the unit. Also I'll try to fix the level sensor showing full tank all the time?

removing fuel sending unit
Finally got to pull the sender out,I want to keep the original piping on it and add a 1/2" suction, did somebody do the mod on this sender? Not sure how to fit the new hose in the bowl as the original set up is hook up to a strainer at bottom here's a few pics, the bottom is a strainer with some kind of a check valve can't get it apart.

1/2" drawstraw sounds like a good one but my truck is parked for the winter with a full tank ,I noticed JAG1 your set up on the fuel sender is that doing the job as good? What is required on your set up?

The 1/2" draw straw does it require to drill a hole in the tank?

removing fuel sending unit
The vulcan big line is it the 3/8 or 1/2" I'm set up with the Fass ddrp roughly 80 gph ?If I stick with the return on the sender should I go with the bigger fitting? Will the original filter handle high flow pumps? What I'm thinking is going 1/2" from tank to pre filter to lift pump as close to the tank as possible then from lift pump to original filter and Vp all 3/8"?Does that make sense?

So are you plumbed through the original filter on the engine, this one is like 3/8" ports max?So the return from the vp is better to be seperate from the suction.

So what's the micron of the pre filter?Did you go 1/2" line all the way to the lift pump,if you filter through the stock filter that one I believe is probably 5/16" same as the factory lines would that be too much restriction. For the lines coming out the sender which one is the return from the vp?

removing fuel sending unit
I finally got back to my project so I cut an opening in the bed,on JAG1 pics it shows only one bigger line on top of the fuel sender and the existing barb as a plugged hose?? On the original it as a bigger and smaller barb coming from sender which one is the return? Also on JAG1 pics he mounted a filter before the pump is that ok? By doing that do you cancel the original filter on the engine?

Did the gauges pod,4" exhaust, cold air intake and added the Smarty...nice...in setting 5 just great for what I need, the ddrp keeps up to 14 psi, does the high idle and 3 cyl high idle gets enabled on your first download ?It doesn't show in the parameters settings.

Your right Mopar ,I go fishing and hunting in the back trails a little rough country,I'm sticking to cutting out an inspection hole in the bed and re enforced

tranny temp gauge
good info ,done the installation I went with the test port, went for a test drive and the hotter it got was 165 going up hill after a few hours, temp went up gradual so the test port is a good choice

removing fuel sending unit
Changed my mind,I'll cut an opening with a zip cut blade then re enforced with a bolt on cover, did anobody do the oversize tubing on the unit,is it simple and do I have to increase the return line?
-
removing fuel sending unit
good opinions guys, there's a few options I think I'll drop the tank ,will draining the tank with the ddrp do it,might kill my batteries?
-
removing fuel sending unit
is it possible to remove the sending unit without removing the fuel tank?I want to see how much of a job it is to increase the fuel suction lines.

Pyprometer gauge hook up
Thanks for the pic! I was done the installation before the pic ,I didn't hook it up to the connector and it seems to read the temperature ok,maybe we don't need it like my pic shows...thanks again guys, next is the exhaust and intake.

Pyprometer gauge hook up
The middle wire is bare ,that one doesn't show on the drawing, does it have to go to ground. This is the sensor from Isspro kit

installing egt temp sensor
Thanks guys,I guess they're pretty picky with the letter R drill bit which is almost impossible to find.
-
installing egt temp sensor
the recommendation for drilling is to use an R drill bit, hard to find ,will 11/32 bit do the job just making sure.
