  1. Evan with those 35” and 3.55 gears do you have mods on your truck like injectors, programmer, turbo?
  2. So the front diff is a 60 and the rear a 70?The gears are probably different? On the weekend I'll try towing my buddy's fifthwheel 11K I'll give it a shot with my 35" I have all gauges set up if any issues with high tranny temp or high egt's I'll switch to my winter tires 33" and see the difference I'll give you the results next week
  3. Probably cheaper to find used ones instead of switching gear, this is probably the best to start with then maybe the injectors, turbo upgrade?
  4. So I'm planning on buying a fifthwheel roughly 10,000 lbs I have 35" tires on my truck I would like to keep those for pulling probably best is the switch to 4.10?What's best do the complete axle or just do the gears?I'm running a Fass ddrp with fuel lines 3/8" from tank, installed a bhaf breather,4" exhaust and a smarty s03,turbo is the hy 35,my tranny is the 47re rebuilt triple disc.
  5. Just purchased a fifthwheel I presently run a smarty on it's own not the best for towing as mentioned so if I combine the edge ez it will advanced the timing which will drop the egt's should be a lot better?
  6. Your right I noticed that too 15 & 35,probably one is cranking 25% and the other one running 100 %.these would be the outputs of the ecm to the transfer pump, back to page 873 the fuse 9 in junction box(run/start) feeds pin 5 on the ecm would this one be for the transfer pump? So the way I wired my Fass is ok,tomorow I'll check fuse 9 in junction box that feeds pin 5.Good info on that wiring map, easy to troubleshoot with the colors.
  7. Is it possible to check the lead that powers the transfer pump at the ecm?one thing I read in the service manual that when cranking the transfer pump is running at 25% that means the way I had it wired I only had 25% of my voltage cranking not sure if that was enough to engage the relay on the FASS pump maybe using the lead from the ecm isn't the best? What's the best way to hook up a Fass pump?
  8. This morning was cool 34 F the truck started ok with my switch and the grit heater was cycling as normal ,which pin on the ecm is the fuel pump?maybe the lead wire from the ecm is the problem?
  9. so I checked the lead(deutz connector)original plug for the transfer pump and nothing when I crank the engine and even tried bumping the starter and no luck, this was my lead to energize my Fass pump relay,so with the switch I installed straight from the battery truck runs fine,I guess the original lead is straight from the ecm? In the manual page 873 it shows fuse 9 run/start (10 amp) in junction box it looks as it sends power to the ecm when starting is that correct? For the ecm if I need to get it repaired who rebuilds them should I send it to the dodge dealer? For now I should probably be ok with my switch I just flick it on before I start the truck and off after I stop the truck. What's the average $ for an ecm rebuild?
  10. I set up a FASS pump last year and used the power for my original transfer pump to energize my new relay for the FASS,so the truck died on me yesterday the transfer pump quit,I switch the fuel system relay, engine control fuses no luck still didn't have power,I got it going again by running a wire on a switch straight from the battery to energize my FASS relay and it works fine for now as long as I don't forget to turn it on or off,in the service manual it shows a 10 amp fuse run/start just can't find it could that be the cause?
  11. Picked up my truck Saturday and guess what FINALLY!! my tranny shifts the way it should,no shuttle or slippage, now I have to go and talked to the 1st tranny guy and try to get more $ back from the warranty,I changed my Smarty setting to 3 and no problem the truck moves pretty good, loving it !!!
  12. Guys with the smarty s03 and auto on what setting are you driving around without putting too much stress on your Tranny?
  13. Should I go with a fan cool for low speed the guys pulling heavy loads at low speed does the engine fan keeps everything cool?
  14. With the new rebuilt should I go with better cooling like bigger oil pan or better oil cooler?
  15. Something to check I did at one point installed an extra ground from passenger side battery to ground
  16. Better not he's a local guy,he mentioned he thought it was a triple disc he installed but the mistake was done twice as he said that when the torq convertor fried the 1st time he had got an exchange?? The other shop sent me pics and it was an off brand single disc torq convertor which are blue in color( King o matic),the one they usually go with are black triple disc and the manufacturer is Convertor man,so the first shop said he'll cover for the cost of the new one $2000. hopefully this one will do better,so my cost will be labour ,bands and other parts,I'll keep you updated on the results.
  17. Your right I'm working with the first guy been fighting that issue the past 2 years hopefully I can get something back,I have 1500 km on the last rebuilt and the oil is already fried? Thanks guys!
  18. The first time the tranny was rebuilt I told the tranny guy I wanted a HD rebuilt to hold that power but maybe the all time is HD multi disc wasn't the proper one and slipping from start, the advice from the other tranny guy was you need to go with the triple disc convertor,I'll talked to the first guy and see what he thinks?
  19. This week I'm working out of town and dropped my truck at a different transmission shop and ask them to check it over and replace the governor solenoid valve so the guy took it for a ride and told me it's running too hot and slipping in all gears ,I showed him the receipt from the other shop and he mentioned the torq convertor he installs in his rebuilt are triple disc and almost double in price and don't slip and run hot he figures the HD multiple disc at $1000.00 Cdn the one in the tranny doesn't hold with the Smarty on setting 9.Does that makes sense?
  20. I'm trying to send a 30 sec. video on the shifting and no luck!So I tighten up the tv and it's a little better but not good, did 4 little videos at WOT and I could smell like burnt clutches, getting pretty frustrating I think I'll bring it to a different tranny shop to investigate the overhaul and maybe they'll figure it out,is there a port on the tranny that could show me if I have the good pressure for shifting? Is it possible to send videos on this forum?
  21. so I backed up the torx screw back where it was ,checked the engine light codes and erased, went for a test drive and same thing as before kinda skips 2nd gear and shuttles into overdrive, here's the codes I had.The 1st pic as nothing to do with this thread
  22. Couldn't download the FSM needed to create an account so tried tightening up the cable went 3 turns on the torx screw went for a test drive 1 block from home the tranny died and the engine light came on,had to back off the adjustment back to original set and I was back on the go but the engine light stayed on? Is the governor pressure solenoid an easy fix?
  23. Is this the tv cable adjustment?I did 1 turn in and same thing should I go till the cable is tight?
  24. NAPA wants to know which output speed sensor the one on the rear diff or the one on the output shaft?
  25. Called the tranny guy and he said he tried 4 different governor press solenoids some were over $100. and it didn't make any difference, for the tv cable he mentioned he adjusted it for quicker shifting? to try to correct the shuttle of 1st and 2nd.Where is the location of the speed sensor?
