  1. Oh well! At least you know where it is! hahaha!
  2. So awesome. I wish I had factory keyless.
  3. I like the tekmats.
  4. Those aren't mutually exclusive, even more so with an automatic. You are fortunate to live at a lower elevation, which will help. If you tow heavy, you don't need or want a big single. It just won't work. You can't sustain the power levels that a big single will live in very long and you won't get spool to get off the line without clouding out traffic with smoke. Plus, when towing you don't want to be sustained much over 20psi or you will wear the engine out far faster than necessary. Anything bigger than a 62 is absolute overkill and again, you are going to have a very smoky and peaky power curve that will be a pain. You have some good options presented above. I would go the adrunio controlled vgt route if it were me. With work, it will be smooth and give good enough power. I really like my II 62 and setup for what I do, but it sucks at altitude and needs more accurate fueling. However, a comp, an HX and 50 hp injectors will give you plenty of power to get up hills. A s300 and 90s-100s will make more power, but you can do the price comparisons on your time and see if it makes sense to your budget.
  5. Makes sense. I've never had it above 5 and it gets kinda... dark behind me at that point. Below that though, silky smooth power compared to Edge.
  6. My tank was mostly drained, I sloshed it til it sesettled in a corner then reached in and swept out the most I could. As for the sump that thing can be hard to disassemble.. Mine was different than yours.
  7. Personally, id stick with stock hx then.
  8. Huh. WnF likes a return line tap. I have a pan tap, as I am lazy. I have never heard of a clamp on sensor.
  9. How many miles on injectors? If original, RVs aren't a bad deal at all, especially with stock turbo. Clutch, if stock, (and planning on staying near stock power) should be fine. Boots won't hurt, but are an easy fix later. If you upgrade turbos, you are in a tough decision of where you want to make power. Along with that decision, you have the question of programmers, injectors, exhaust and trans/clutch. I like my 62 and 125s, but it is smoky at 6,000 ft pressure altitude. If less than 4,000 pressure alt, I would recommend a II 62/12 turbo with the smarty. Above that, I am still working toward a good combination. The one item I would look at is your clutch hydraulics. I would replace it with a South Bend unit while the engine is out or a stock unit a minimum. Any transmission bearings like pilot bearings and whatnot that are accessible, I would change while the engine is out. If I got really bored, I would do the power steering pump, starter brushes, and vacuum pump while it is out. A cam isn't bad, but is a lot of money. I really REALLY want to try one. If I were you, I wouldn't go for new cam springs unless my old ones are bad. In short, RV injectors will help. A cam... maybe. A turbo is a calculation to sync with injectors, fuel, and driveline upgrades are never bad.
  10. I learned to drive in a 97 F-350 and a 88 2500 IFS GMC... Both had the turning radius of your average oil tanker. Once in a while I drive the wife's 4runner, and I really wonder about this whole truck devotion thing.
  11. Based off my oilfield experience, I would have said "screw that." Laziness and lack of proper procedure on your part does not equate a risk to my perpetual livelihood. Kudos man, and stay safe. I hate augers. We would have augers at the rear of a blender pulling up sand (proppant) into the tub that would sometimes become frozen due to lazy truck drivers. Some supervisors wanted me to get a little physical with them to free up blockages. I had no qualms of saying too darn bad if I couldn't clear it with a piece of rebar. I like my hands and they weren't worth a ~$45,000 job.
  12. I am used to the multi point turn that my old short bed didn't have. There are days I wish I had kept my 2000 and P pumped it. Oh well.
  13. I know! It is cute isn't it? Just darling!
  14. For some things, yes. But for others that I just want to scan, I prefer gauges. Temp, batt, oil px, and fuel px should be straight up. If they were in a line of gauges that would be perfect
  15. But, did they die? What, dont like the 1930s tech in cessnas? I plan on doing a bit of small plane flying in a couple weeks. I havent died yet.
  16. Or, having someone say "hey (flight) engineer, does this look funny to you?" Nobody appreciates my in flight jokes when the plane makes a weird thump of "did we just hit a deer?"
  17. Think of it like shaking voodoo chicken bones at the truck. If I dont have basic tools, it will break!
  18. Harbor freight flex hose one is working so far.
  19. I'm in the same boat. I end up doing the same thing. If it really bothers you you might have a small amount of adjustment in the tv cable. If you want it to shift earlier under less load, lenghten the cable, vice versa for later shifts. However, I reset mine to full travel at WOT and it cleared up most of the shuttling at that 30mph range.
  20. I am right there with ya for Spiders. I hate them.
  21. Time was the only way I ever treated that issue, and I never found a cure... aside from selling the horse and buying a dirt bike.
  22. Id get some exhaust wrap tape, the cloth kind and wrap each v clamp and seal. Then you should be able to verify the leak.
  23. I love that version.
